This is a sad day. The brave men and women at @CAL_FIRE put their lives on the line to protect all of us. RIP to true heroes.
It is with great sadness that #CALFIRE shares the tragic loss of our employees who perished in a midair collision yesterday evening while fighting the Broadway fire in Riverside County. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Assistant Chief Josh Bischof, Fire Captain Tim Rodriguez, and Exclusive Use Helicopter Pilot Tony Sousa. #LODD

California is a mixed fire regime system, which means that in some areas (Sierra Nevadas), we rely on snow to act as drip irrigation slowly releasing moisture. In some areas we actually need rain to grow fuels (deserts). Expect uneven spatial distribution of fire this #fireseason
