My father fought at El Alamein and Monte Cassino, he was awarded the MC. He was a proud supporter of the EU, a patriot and hated racism and extreme right wing politics in all its forms.

My uncle was a fighter pilot in WW2. Shot down 3 times in Battle Of Britain. He was so badly hurt he could no longer fly so RAF took him off active pilot’s duty and transferred to Bomber Command. As rear gunner ‘tail-end Charlie’ he was killed over Germany. He didn’t die for you.
