I would complain that this morning’s update to Xtwitter has broken the ability to turn off sound effects but given everything else wrong with it, on and around the service and it’s owner, it seems pointless.

I downloaded my data yesterday and might just call it a day here. Reluctant as I am to do so. There is no replacement and I don’t think there will be, can be. A product if it’s time, a time that has past.

Belfast city centre is increasingly full of places to stay but with a decreasing number of reasons to stay in it. Fairly ugly, soulless, looking places at that.

I’m gettting good at this. I answered the door, the cold caller reached for his id and look at me. I *looked* at him. He said, “I’ll leave you to it then.” I said bye, and closed the door.

Just set up on Bluesky (thanks for the code @SaRoseCav). If we’re connected here, and you hate yourself enough to continue seeing the steady stream of drivel I post, then say hello over there.

So far the Film Time Tunnel has taken us to Dunkirk, Minority Report and Romeo and Juliet, skipping past lots of great films, some of which we’ll hopefully get back to on the return journey. Next stop, the 80s, and a high risk of a montage.

Our Film Time Tunnel has spat us out in 1996, in front of Romeo and Juliet. Thought the kids were going to bail but they’ve settled into it. Always takes a while to get used to the word density.

This bubbly behemoth has been fermenting in the fridge since Sunday. Looks like it’s time for some lunchtime baking. Fire up the casserole pot, things are gonna get crusty.
