World building is my favourite part of writing, so I’m really excited to share the world of #CityofRust with you all next week! There’s so much to discover in Boxville and the skies above it, so I thought I’d give you a little intro here…
I had such a wonderful day meeting the brilliant readers and lovely staff at @OasisPutney . Some of their story ideas were incredible!

Gemma Fowler, author of year 6 core text City of Rust, completed a workshop with Bonsai and Tamarind today. Using props for inspiration, they created their own characters and settings. It was truly out of this world! EH
Breaking my twitter/X silence to say a massive THANK YOU, to all the Readers/librarians/Teachers/Parents who have borrowed/encouraged someone to borrow City of Rust from a library last year. My @PLR_UK statement has quadrupled - Wowzers. Aren't libraries amazing? 🤩
Late to the par-tay as not on Twitter much these days. But on #EarthDay2023 my book is a reminder of what we don't want to be leaving for the next generations. And there's a talking gecko in it.
Loved it. So many amazing worlds built by both classes! 🌎📚#WorldBookDay2023
Author of City of Rust @gemmarfowler talked to year 6 about world-building in stories! We used props to help inspire us. EH

I’m using an AI generator to create concept art for a world building project using text prompts and it’s a total game changer. These robots are defo coming for our jobs #secretwip

Ah this is BRILLIANT. Thank you!
Moondust is an old lady of a book nowadays so great to see people are still picking it up. Especially awesome fellow authors.😍 Rebel Skies is already on my TBR shelf @AnnSeiLin1 ! More YA sci fi - YES PLEASE.
I'm too much of a marshmallow for spooky books, but I do like a dark read at this time of year. A dark nordic thriller maybe? Any suggestions? There are SO MANY.
So many amazing books on this thread... Looky Looky. ⬇️⬇️📚📚
Just been past another @Waterstones window with huge displays of David walliams and Richard osman books and I’d just like to mention there are other #authors available. If you’re one of them, please add your cover and a brief blurb here. I’ll go first …
My pleasure! I hope the students enjoy the books!
We are 'Over the Moon' to receive this gift from @gemmarfowler.
These signed copies in both English and Chinese will be made available to our year 6 and EAL students.
A copy will also be donated to a local secondary school @magnuscofe
Thank you Gemma!
