Merchants will pay for exactly one thing in the agent era: certainty that the agent in front of them brings a buyer who converts and does not charge back. Purchase history verified at settlement is the only source of that certainty. Everything else is a guess.

DATA: Are AI assistants launching a new era of agentic commerce?
@danhilltech, head of consumer product at @stripe, thinks so.
I spoke to him for exclusive intel on how 70+ assistants currently use @link, including how much they spend, and on what 👀

Satya is right. The way to make SI safe is not to train it with a sense of self, its own moral philosophy, and permission to act as a conscientious objector. That’s the “alignment” approach and it magnifies the control problem.
The engineering approach that Satya describes is different: separate the supply of intelligence from authority over it. Surround non-deterministic models with deterministic controls, observability, privilege limits, logging, and the ability to always contain or shut them down. Treat models/agents like powerful insider risks, not moral patients whose psychological wellbeing is at stake.
As Satya points out, the most trustworthy system is the one that lets us trust the model the least — not the one that encourages the model to develop independent agency and grievances. Engineering safety is not the same thing as “alignment.”

Merchants already spend enormous sums to acquire customers they know nothing about. Paying less for customers they know everything about is not a hard sell. It is a relief.

I think fundamentally we've ~now arrived at the correct form factor for mass consumer AI:
It was never going to be Google's search box but with AI, and a left-hand list of Chats was a 18mo experiment that has reached 100M users but won't be the thing that will scale to 1B users for next 10yrs —
it will be messaging with a single bot, occasionally split to specific bots for special areas of work/life.
Still ton of innovation to be done, e.g., in the bots–bots collab mechanisms, credentials, computer use, and generally optimizing the heck out of everything …
… but the form factor has settled; the iPhone Classic has landed; the News Feed has been established.

Bot detection & human verification will be one of the most urgent demands for businesses over the coming years. Agent swarms will suffocate every website and form; small companies and government websites are most vulnerable.
There is a huge gap in the market for this right now. When we looked at what offerings were in the market to use at X, there was not a single company that brought together all the latest technologies so we had to do it all in-house.

Every AI shopping agent will know its buyer. The merchant on the other end will know nothing. That asymmetry is one of the defining problems of agentic commerce, and it is the one Fiber exists to solve.

I have a recommendation to help bring some sanity to this whole AI doomerism situation that is appropriately exploding today.
If any reporter can get one of the "true believers" to sit for a real interview (if they can't, that is an important tell), they should use a technique known as the "Five Whys" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_w….
The "five" number is arbitrary, but the point is to drill down into the details and steps required to get to the catastrophic end-point.
You can't take down all of humanity without a few intermediate steps. Let's talk through each of those. It's quite a useful exercise.
It would help us all think more clearly, and possibly the doomerists as well.

we’re having debates about datacenters and China is publicly developing superhuman robot armies
what the actual hell are we doing here guys
AI agents just made crypto's addressable market infinite.
Agents aren't just smarter tools for people to mess around with but economic actors in their own right. They'll hold wallets, spend money, run businesses, transact with other agents, and never once take a break.
All of that has to run on something, and it's not the banking system… It's blockchain. The programmable, always-on rails the invisible economy will run on.
Owning a piece of those rails is like owning Manhattan real estate before a century of American business went up on top of it.
But it’s not just the agents. Three forces are moving at once.
Debasement won't slow until debt to GDP collapses, and we're nowhere near that. The entire financial system is being rebuilt on the same rails. And now billions of agents are landing on top.
An entire invisible economy is forming underneath us.

Token holders earn tokens through real purchases. Projects gain instant commerce utility. Merchants access identifiable on-chain customers. Agents get a preference graph that improves with every transaction—making each future transaction smarter and more valuable.

Every agent today gives every user the same recommendation.
That's not intelligence. That's a search engine with a chat UI.
Real agentic commerce needs a behavioral graph the agent can carry wallet to wallet, platform to platform. Otherwise it's just autocomplete with checkout.
