So proud of the MLX team!
Muse Spark Open, on your desk: 816B params at 36+ tokens/sec on 4 Mac Studio computers.
We've been hard at work on better M5 GPU Neural Accelerator support, a smoother Thunderbolt experience (including multi-cable meshes), and kernel optimizations for MoE architectures.
Oh — and MLX LM (mlx_lm.generate, mlx_lm.server) now supports the vision modality for Muse Spark Open!

Congrats to the team! Amazing to run a model of Muse Spark Open's caliber and scale this efficiently, right from your desk. Mac Studio keeps pushing the boundaries of on-device AI!

Remedy's Control on iOS is remarkable - the full ray tracing suite (!), MetalFX upscaling and frame interpolation combine to make one of the most advanced mobile experiences we've seen. We also look at iPad and MacBook Pro versions too: digitalfoundry.net/reviews/c…

CONTROL Ultimate Edition is now on iPhone and iPad!
We built it specifically for mobile:
🕹️ Touch controls
👾 Reworked interface and gameplay systems
💥Great on smaller screens, while retaining the intensity and unpredictability of the original
Get it on the App Store now as a universal purchase, playable across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

It's important to distinguish between supporting legal immigration generally and advocating specifically for tech immigration to fill high-skilled jobs. While both positions have merit, they're driven by different motivations and have distinct implications.
Often, those in the tech industry who express concerns about unfilled positions and visa challenges primarily focus on the need for skilled workers. This perspective, while understandable, overshadows the broader context of immigration and the diverse needs and contributions of immigrants from all walks of life.
We need to remember that contributions to American society come in many forms, and a narrow focus on high-skilled immigration can obscure the immense potential of individuals who may arrive with very limited resources and experience.
Examples abound, but consider the remarkable cases of just two refugees who had immense impact on tech: Sergey Brin fled the Soviet Union with his family as a child; and Andy Grove, who escaped Hungary and revolutionized tech with the microprocessor. Neither were “skilled workers” at the time of admission to the US.
A truly balanced immigration system should consider not only the demands of the tech sector but also the value of immediate family reunification, humanitarian concerns, and the overall enrichment that diverse forms of immigration bring to our society. To fulfill the long-term promise of America as a nation of opportunity, we must recognize and embrace the potential of all legal immigrants, not just those who would serve the short term needs of the tech sector.

🧵The ballot measures last night say a few things about voters’ feelings about the economy.
Here is how they played out.
PAID SICK LEAVE
All three measures requiring employers to provide paid sick leave PASSED (AK, MO, NE)
All 3 states went to Trump

Turkey played some of the most exciting games in #EURO2024. I am
sad they got eliminated. I think they deserved at least to play the overtime.
I hope the final is between Spain and Netherlands. France and England play some very boring football.
