I would like to place on record my sincere appreciation for John Campion [ @JohnCampionJr ] - the CMS he created for the AnandTech editors to use was a joy to work with. Miles ahead of any of the other options I have experimented with.
After 27 years of providing in-depth coverage of the amazing world of PC and mobile hardware, AnandTech is saying farewell. We want to thank everyone from the AnandTech community for their support and passion for what we’ve done over the years

A retweet for a wider reach - Gavin has been a wonderful team player and will be an asset to any company in the tech space. Wishing him the very best for a fulfilling career ahead.
I'm currently available for employment and/or freelance roles! I am an experienced PC Hardware Editor, but I'm also openpen to Tech PR Roles.
(Warning: long tweet!) Please tag or retweet anyone who may be interested in hiring me! I have some big news. My tenure at @anandtech has ended, and it's been a great seven or so years, which I genuinely loved. I would have been proud to have even contributed a small tidbit to an article at AnandTech, let alone all the content I have over the years. I have posted over 500 bylines, with many of these being detailed analyses and event coverage.
Writing for AnandTech was my pipedream when I first got into this industry many years ago, and I can honestly say I have accomplished this dream and gone beyond the realms of what I thought. The experience genuinely humbles me.
Going from a basic freelance editor to taking over from Dr. Ian Cutress as Senior Editor is one of my greatest lifelong achievements, and I'm forever grateful for it. I learned so much from my time at AT and got to stamp my authority on PC hardware as the authority. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of working with some of the best the industry has to offer, including @RyanSmithAT, @ganeshts, @andreif7, and others from the team.
I also want to give a special mention to my mentor and friend throughout my time at AnandTech, Dr. @IanCutress: Without this man, I wouldn't be where I am today, and I'm forever grateful for his knowledge, friendship, and very strong ethical nature.
During my time, I've met some wonderful people I consider good friends and done amazing things with amazing people. I just wanted to thank everyone, including companies and anyone my content has helped over the years! I'm not leaving the industry, though...
If you're looking for an experienced editor with many years of experience and great relationships in the tech industry, please feel free to contact me! Thanks to all (please retweet or tag anyone who may be interested in my services 🙂)
After 14+ years and 846 bylines (including 356 long-form reviews), it is time for me to bid adieu to @anandtech ; I intend to continue coverage of computing systems in general, with a focus on storage and networking, in a different venture (stay tuned!) (1/3)

There is never a bad product - only bad pricing. If the AI Pin were to be priced at $70 with no subscription fees, the reception would have been very different in the reviewer community.

The PRO-BLADE Portable SSD ecosystem from @SanDiskPro has been serving the content capture industry since mid-2022. In today's review @ganeshts delves deep into the design and performance of the PRO-BLADE SSD Mag and TRANSPORT enclosures:

Multiple 2TB thumb drives of dubious origin continue to dupe e-shoppers, but it's possible to get legit ones for around $100. The @SiliconPowerEN MS70 is an example. Retail availability has just started to pick up, so it's not on Amazon or Newegg just yet.
Legitimate 2TB thumb drives with reasonable pricing are finally a reality, as the MS70 from @SiliconPowerEN starts to get wider retail availability. @ganeshts takes a look at its performance profile and and value proposition

Did some extensive research into this while debugging a SVG rendering issue in the output of my @wavedrom fork. As a Windows user, options available for Blink - Chrome / Edge / Opera. Gecko - Firefox. WebKit was a doozy to set up - GNOME Web / Epiphany using Flathub via WSL!
Legwork for an upcoming @anandtech review led me to an Amazon listing for a 2TB USB flash drive. 2K+ customers got conned in the past month alone. E-tailers need to curb the sale of obviously fake products like these.

Tracking power over a Type-C connector is tricky business, as most inline meters cause signal degradation and disrupt data transfers. A few, like the @chargerlab KM003C, deserve a detailed investigation.
My thanks to @Laughing_Man for his inputs in the course of this evaluation.
USB-C power meters with 40 Gbps data pass-through & API support are a rarity. @ganeshts chanced upon one such device in the @ChargerLAB KM003C. Can it be an alternative to the Google Twinkie for tracking the power efficiency of bus-powered devices?

Interestingly, @ShokzUSA has released their own air conduction / directional audio earbuds (OpenFit) the day after I posted this. At first glance, battery life seems shorter than the OpenRock Pro, and no aptX. The BT audio SoC in the OpenFit is also not clear from the FCC filings
This morning @ganeshts is taking a quick look at a pair of conduction headsets: OneOdio's OpenRock Pro and Shokz' OpenRun Open. Though both end up tickling his ear bone, they're quite different products in both functionality and internal electronics

I rarely post politics-related tweets from this account, but if you are a CA resident reading this, I would like to request you to contact your state senator to voice opposition to #SB403 (1/5)
You can also contact your state senator directly via the official contact form (comments restricted to 2K words), which is what I did : sd15.senate.ca.gov/contact (the above URL is for SD15. It varies based on where you reside in CA). (4/5)
If you have any questions or require more information about #SB403 - including aspects that the mainstream media glosses over or ignores outright (thanks to the aforementioned PR blitz), my DMs are open. (5/5)
