Controversial take: The most significant contribution of AI to date has been the ability to debug code that humans simply cannot.

Iteratively debugging via multi-GB verbose logging files is an entirely new AI-enabled paradigm that allows for 100x more complicated software to be created that simply would not otherwise be possible.

Not to mention long-standing security-intense software products, like OS's, are producing zero-day fixes by the thousands. These next few years of security 'hardening' are going to dramatically improve safety and stability.

No one went to prison. No home confinement. No DPAs. No one was even charged. Water under the bridge. Onwards!
🇺🇸 BREAKING: Bank of America has been fined $1.2 BILLION by the US government. The bank failed to flag over $5 BILLION in suspicious transactions, the Treasury says. The missed transactions were linked to suspected Chinese money laundering networks and illicit finance around the southern US border. The Treasury called the bank’s money laundering and sanctions failures “egregious and continued.” The penalty includes a $750 MILLION fine from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, per the FT.

If you've ever wanted to know the face of someone becoming aware that his life instantly changed from a million dollar payday to 5 years in prison, it probably looks something like this:

In other words, there are bad people right now, purchasing your personal information from darkweb, with specific intent to con/steal from you. In some cases, they'll know how much crypto you have. At the least, they'll suspect you have, and won't believe you if you don't.

Imagine downloading and installing some rando's decompiled/repackaged rip of established software to save a few bucks. How much did you actually save if all your crypto suddenly vanishes, your ID is stolen, and your machine is pulverized by background malicious bitcoin mining?

This niche trick blindly overlooks the moats of: infrastructure, centralized data, maintenance, marketing, support, adding or updating features, distribution, licensing, IP theft, and compliance. The fact that compiled code was historically obscured was a trivial convenience.
The vast, vast majority of investors have no idea what just happened to software in the last five days. This is going to hit like a tsunami while everyone is in bed at a beachside motel.

Twitter seems more pleasant lately, like so much hatred and vitriol and shaming and mockery and mindfucking manipulation has just been bombed out of our timelines for some reason.

To get in front of the bleeding hearts, AI is coming for all our jobs, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Embrace it, demand UBI. It's inevitable.

Ledger is investigating reports of loss of funds from users in South East Asia who purchased products from a reseller named CryptoBillis. As a precaution, and pending the results of our investigation, we have asked CryptoBilis to pause all sales and shipments of Ledger devices. We recommend Ledger users who purchased from this reseller in the last 90 days to not initiate set up if you have not done so yet. If you have set up your Ledger device, consider moving assets to a new Ledger signer (with new seed). We will continue to inform customers of updates as the investigation progresses. Reach out to Ledger customer support through official channels with any questions: support.ledger.com/
