Honored to receive the Champion of Public Education award tonight from The South Carolina School Boards Association and to be recognized at Clover School District amongst friends. It was also great to see Clover Schools posting “Tomorrow Needs You” in front of all the schools for suicide awareness month. < 3

Two 14-year-old best friends in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. One family leans right, the other left. Over four years, the adults around them split over COVID rules in the schools, and then over almost everything else.
The girls stay friends.
That's the heart of 𝘉𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘺, 𝘜𝘚𝘈, a new five-part documentary from Robert May and Barry Levinson. It's a hard watch in places. Neighbors struggle not to see each other as the enemy.
What these two girls do is exactly what our political system makes hard for elected leaders. Yet the most effective members of Congress are the ones who build alliances across the aisle.
Bucks County's own congressman, @RepBrianFitz, is one of them. The Lugar Center ranked him the most bipartisan member of the House five years running, and his story is one of ten I tell in 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘜𝘚.
I got to talk about all this at a preview screening in Washington with @JudyWoodruff from @pbsnewshour, Robert May, Layla Zaidane from @futurecaucus, Rosarie Tucci from @IssueOneReform, and Andrew Hanauer of @OneAmericaMvmt .
The first two episodes are streaming free on @PBS now, with a new one each week through October 18. Watch it with someone who votes differently than you.

For more than 60 years, The Dining Car has been part of the fabric of the Northeast. What started as the Torresdale Diner has grown into a place generations of Northeast Philly families know and love — whether it’s a quick breakfast, a late night meal, or just catching up.

For the second part of our shoot in the U.S. capital, Off the Floor was visited by Senator Deon Tedder of South Carolina. Having gone from navigating the law as an attorney to writing it in the state government, Deon works to make sure his colleagues from both sides of the aisle understand the communities that will be impacted by the bills they pass. We also got to discuss his time working for Ted Kennedy, thoughts on the rise of AI, and the struggle of making politics a solo career when his state's politicians are the lowest-paid in the country.

Formerly a pro footballer, Jeremy went back to Alabama to tackle the big issues at home, and has worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between Democrats and Republicans and encourage young people to get active politically.
On top of this, as a certified yoga instructor, he is currently fighting against a statewide ban on practicing yoga in his state.
