Great title. Great read.
All models are wrong and yours are useless! In case you missed my talk yesterday on how to make clinical prediction tools useful for patients, you can read all about it here. Enjoy! doi.org/10.1038/s41698-024-0…

A comic strip of a superhero immune cell killing a malignant tumor cell. In the first frame, the immune cell superhero looks extremely tired and exhausted and says "I feel so exhausted". In the second frame, we can see anti-PD1 antibodies flying in... #DALLE3

Ever analyze a scRNAseq dataset and wonder if a specific cell state has been seen before? And if so, where in the human body? Under what conditions? Well, now you can use our lightning fast SCimilarity search and foundational model for that! ⚡️🔎🧬 biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… (1/11)

Another study shows that the location and type of genetic mutations in cancer can impact immune response. This could help guide the development of more personalized immunotherapies. Congrats to @SohrabShah, @ivazquezgarcia, and @fuhlitz on their research! nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Wasn't aware of this, but sounds like Scott Aaronson at OpenAI is working on cryptographically watermarking GPT outputs. Means it should be easy enough (in principle) for e.g. teachers to check if students used GPT to do their homework, StackOverflow to check for GPT use, etc.

In case people were wondering how a "super hero immune cell attacking cancer cells" looks like. #midjourney

love this thread. and hashtag.
Hi Tweeps, I'm having fun boiling down scientific discoveries into a single plot. Someone asked if I can thread them, but instead I am hash-tagging them so you all can find them "Often a major scientific discovery can be boiled down to a #singleplot in a paper."

2008: RNA-seq works. PMID: 18516045. Still remember when @molsysbio showed this plot to us in the first compbio class I took #singleplot

Friends, Musk/Twitter headlines are all variants of ‘what will Elon do?’ It’s a signal of how lost we are. We obsess over one man and his whims because we don’t yet have the democratic rule of law needed to govern our information spaces. Without law power is dangerous.🧵[1/8]

STK11/KEAP/KRAS mutations modulate tumor microenvironment in NSCLC. Great work from @fuhlitz @SohrabShah @MSKCancerCenter showing STK11 loss associated w/ less T-cells/more neutrophils/lower surv. Co-mutations are becoming more & more clinically relevant #AACR22 #LCSM
