I bet there’s actually a lot of overlap between tech office snacks and federal prison meeting room snacks

Excited for this weekend’s big movie everyone is talking about: La Maison des Bois tomorrow at bampfa

Just finished the first three. Not well attended. There is nothing like a random bampfa crowd — I was one of a handful under 60 and the retirees in front of me swapped recommendations for Resident Evil and Seven Years in Tibet

If you watch him on mute he always looks like he’s being questioned about a crime that he definitely committed but is trying to get out of.
David Adelman gives a ton of insight when he talks X's and O's and how he processes players, lineups, and strategic thinking. One of the best coaches in the league at explaining actual basketball concepts.

Hollywood defends Tom Cruise's "Digger" as it becomes one of the biggest studio bombs in movie history. Guillermo del Toro: "Love the arts. F*ck the charts." Anne Hathaway: "I loved this brilliant movie. It’s smart and trippy and aggressive and funny and ambitious. It’s worth making the time see and decide for yourself what you make of it. For me? 10/10.” Jane Fonda: “The film allows us to witness another side of Tom Cruise’s courage. It was a big, brave risk for him to take on this role and he was very good in it and very brave." Mandy Patinkin: "One of the greatest pieces of film I have ever seen in my entire life. This is an incredible piece of work. It puts the heart and soul back into the cinema. Everything we all love about cinema, this is it. Please, please, please, run! Don’t walk, run, and see this film. variety.com/2026/film/news/a…

Giants season is over and keeps getting worse
Ex-Anthropic Jacob Coxon says he's 90% certain China already has spies inside both OpenAI and Anthropic Jacob Coxon: “Right now, if we just stopped, they would try and catch up. But I think one really important thing people don’t realize is that China already has spies at OpenAI and Anthropic. China has the ability to hack at any time. If we pull ahead, that doesn’t give us a big lead. They can just step in, steal our progress at any time and catch up.” Patrick Bet-David: “How certain are you that they already have spies there?” Jacob Coxon: “Ninety percent. Yeah, it’s almost certain that they have spies.”

Do I dig “Digger”? Well, if about 30 minutes were cut, it would’ve been a much stronger movie. As is, Iñárritu’s latest (in which he borrows a lot from himself) has a flawed framework, preachy commentary and flat stretches. Cruise sizzles, but overall an underwhelming experience.
