#TheCatInTheHat tickets are now on sale. WB animated feature opens Nov. 6. Art Director @Amossussigan — who's also the director of the new animated short film #Pigeons — joins me on this LCJ Q&A Podcast episode: bit.ly/4BlwjPW
On this new "LCJ LIVE" episode, I've got box office and reviews of awards season contenders #WildHorseNine #Wildwood #IPlayRocky #BeingHeumann #Tangles and #IronBoy. Watch Now: youtube.com/live/2LT61hkrQZU
After last night’s #IPlayRocky screening, Garrett Brown, the inventor of the steadicam, shared incredible stories about filming #Rocky using his revolutionary invention — and being part of making "I Play Rocky" 50 years later. Michael Fuchs plays him in the film! @woodstockfilm
Just screened #IPlayRocky @woodstockfilm Festival. Absolute crowdpleaser. Anthony Ippolito is the real deal as Stallone. Takes its time in 1st half. Didn’t need the humor. 2nd half gets to the heart of moviemaking and the “Rocky” recreations are stellar. Stay through the credits.
Major moment for documentaries as #YouCanSeeEverything will debut in 2nd Place with about $12 million (maybe more) this weekend. In a little over three months, we'll find out if it also becomes the first documentary feature ever to be nominated for Best Picture at the #Oscars.
I've screened #Wildwood, the new PG-13 @LAIKAStudios stop-motion animated feature in theaters next Friday Oct. 23. The craftsmanship is incredibly impressive. An epic adventure story with another strong #LAIKA lead character and sequences you'll definitely remember. @FathomEnt
At yesterday's "Tangles" @woodstockfilm Festival post-screening Q&A director Leah Nelson discussed how she adapted the graphic novel, wanted to focus on the psyche of Sarah (not her mom Midge) and how she recorded multiple voice actors together as often as possible. @IndieFilmCom
"Prada 2" has a GOOD Meryl Streep performance. She brings new levels of grit and reflection to Miranda Priestly. Streep will likely get Globe nom. She's hasn't been Oscar nominated in 9 years. No individual SAG & BAFTA noms for a film in 10 years. Maybe she gets on those ballots.
#IronBoy is a high quality animation achievement. Director Louis Clichy's feature is full of emotional truths. A beautiful look. Funny, surprising & moving. Themes that will deeply resonate with audiences around the world. Awards run in Dec; select theaters Jan. 22. @sonyclassics
"Digger" is one of the most talked about movies of 2026. @Mikeonscreen and I have our in-depth thoughts on the Inarritu / Cruise collab on this "2 Fast 2 Films" episode, along with Mike's "Social Reckoning" review and my quick take on the Martin Mull doc: bit.ly/3U2bVT6
#WildHorseNine is my favorite McDonagh film of his past three. Malkovich & Rockwell will *definitely* be nominated throughout this awards season. It's a character study with subtle power. The moves this script makes... how it morphs into a drama in the 2nd half... are satisfying.
Screened #BeingHeumann last night @woodstockfilm Festival: Sian Heder's follow-up to "CODA" (theaters Nov. 6; AppleTV Nov. 13). Fascinating story elements. Fine performances from Madeley, Ruffalo and O'Brien. Lighter tone than I expected. A little too long (especially 2nd Half).
Just screened excellent adult animated feature #Tangles @woodstockfilm Festival, directed by Leah Nelson, who presents a complex, emotional story in bold and honest ways. Great voice cast too — Louis-Dreyfus, Jacobson and Cranston. Awards qualifying run next month. @IndieFilmCom

"Strawberry Shortcake's Bake Shop" premieres Friday on the iconic character's official YouTube channel. #WildBrain VP of Content Daisy Wall joins me to talk about the new animated family series. LCJ Q&A Podcast episode and Animation Scoop Q&A arrive tomorrow. #StrawberryShortcake
#Pigeons director @Amossussigan joins me to talk about his new animated short film (narrated by @andyserkis) and more. Here’s a clip from our conversation. LCJ Q&A Podcast episode and Animation Scoop Q&A arrive tomorrow!
Tune-in Tomorrow at 7:30pm on a new episode of "AHA! A House for Arts" on @WMHTPubMedia for an inside look at what makes Capital Region Drive-In movie theaters so special. You'll hear from some local owners, a NY Drive-Ins expert, and I may even make an on-camera appearance.
