I have also seen this theory have a practical impact on autistic trans people when they seek gender affirming care. I've heard from trans women that their autism was used as a reason why they couldn't be trans, because they must have an inherently 'male' brain to be autistic.

Finding and unlearning all the different kinds of negative self-talk that you’ve picked up over the years makes an enormous difference in energy, anxiety, stress, black-and-white thinking, motivation, ability to communicate with others, and spreads throughout every area of life.

...and you just can't shake the feeling that something is deeply wrong with our society, with world leaders, with corporations, with the media, with everyone going about their daily lives as if everything is perfectly fine... you try all kinds of things to wake people up.

😷 Prevent the spread of illnesses when you can. Wearing a mask, washing your hands, using hand sanitizer, staying home when you’re sick, covering your cough, not licking random things in public (wasn’t this a TikTok trend for a sec?? 😂) are all tools you can use when necessary.

🐕‍🦺 Adore service dogs, but like, with the force. Service dogs are such good boys and deserve all our love and praise — but love and praise can distract them from their very important job. This is why I have perfected the art of telepathically messaging dogs to say “good boy.”

A lot of wheelchair users get harassed in public by people who see them move their legs or stand up for a sec Just sharing the fact that wheelchair users don’t have to be paralyzed to need a wheelchair is a great way to support disabled people, because it might lessen harassment

Meanwhile, they could be passing legislation to save Indigenous languages by giving them the same funding as French. They could put moratoriums on extractive business practices like logging or drilling for oil. They could give back some of the 89% of Canada that's crown land.

Then imagine it’s not root vegetables, but essential healthcare, and you are close to the ridiculous, hate-filled, mind-bogglingly stupid situation in Britain, where folks are starving and freezing and Rishi Sunak wants to become PM so he can crack down on inclusive language 🤦🏻‍♂️ – at East Region, Singapore

I keep thinking that when I read history books or took classes and learned about fascism and coups and insurrections in other countries, I've thought I'm glad I live here where we don't do that. Then it happened. And a lot of people seemed totally unfazed. It's disorienting.
