lando having no problems saying i love you to random strangers is making me very happy he’s just so full of love
funny how this is what they’re doing NOW but all the other instances this season they didn’t seem to care. suddenly it’s maximize the team points but only when it’s too late. same shit as in 2024 lol
andrea stella explains why mclaren had already discussed a potential driver swap before the cota race:
"we had seen during the weekend that lando was a little bit faster than oscar. this is a track in which lando excels and is one of the tracks in which oscar instead struggles a little bit more.
so this year i think in particular for oscar is tricky because oscar’s superpower is to build, once he creates references he can really effectively build lap after lap.
but here, every lap is different. so these are the conditions that challenge oscar. and actually are the conditions where lando uses his own superpower which is being very adaptive to the conditions especially as the car slides.
so given this context we discussed before the race that if lando was behind oscar and oscar could not keep up with the cars ahead then we could have given lando a chance or an opportunity to see if we could attack the cars ahead, and that’s what we did.
it’s a way of demonstrating that as a team and together with the drivers we care about the interest of the team which was always the conversation that we have had. and especially after singapore, we reinforced how much it’s important that we all together help mclaren go back to the position that we want to have, which is oscar and lando first row in qualifying, and fighting for the win. and then we manage the internal competition.
but up to then, all together we need to sustain the trajectory of mclaren back to the front."

On oscar’s onboard the only thing said to him was the line about different strategies (a code perhaps to swap). Nothing else was said before or after (barring a comment about his brakes after going off at t12) and there was no pushback from him on the move
now andrea is confirming the swap was discussed pre race. makes sense why they ended up on basically the same strategy after both being told they’re on different ones if it actually never had to do with strategy, mclaren have made their coding nonsense clear in the past
I’m not gonna police anyone in how they reacted to this and in the moment it’s difficult to see things from a logical point of view when emotions are rampant, but so much discourse for a swap that was seemingly happening before the lights even went out
I’ve also seen way too many people say lando asked for that swap, he was asked about his pace, he said he had more but put the ball back in McLarens court
And after the reaction to the Singapore sprint, I can’t blame him for making it 100% McLarens liability

Of the 77 F1 seasons we have had, Lando Norris' 2025 season ranks as the 12th best in f1 history in terms of average finishing position.
Lando haters are all uninformed idiots😂😂😂😂😂
Replying to @CFgm_WHU
Yes lando is statistically one of the worst World Champions ever . Be it his wdc season or the season after , chose for yourself because the result wont change
every single team in the history of f1 employs these swaps for the wcc fight. believing only one driver out of the entire grid should get special treatment when he ended up finished 22+ seconds behind is how you know mclaren has cultivated a braindead cult fanbase for this guy 💀
this race has just shown me how little some people know about the sport they’re watching 😭😭 if you don’t understand why lando dropped from p2 to p5 at the end there and put that on his driving i don’t think you should get to have an opinion on f1 lol

Noticed from today Piastri fans not knowing the concept of race pace and somehow criticising lando from going from P2 to P5 also showing me they don’t know tyre life.
Lando finished a pit stop ahead and a place over Hadjar.
He said he had more pace which he absolutely did and proved it.
I don’t see how you can have a problem with what happened.

"we had a very fast pitstop, probably the fastest of the race, yet to be confirmed. but also a problematic pitstop, which in this case was due to a hardware problem"
first of all, credit to the pit crew for pulling off the fastest pitstop and for all their hard work 👏 but the hardware issues have been an ongoing problem since last year, and stella had assured that they would be fixed this season. yet here we are, with both drivers losing valuable time to slow pitstops across the last two seasons. the crew are clearly capable of delivering fast stops which makes it all the more frustrating that these hardware issues are still getting in the way. i really hope it's fully fixed come next season.

"P5 was the best we could achieve today, so i'm happy. i feel like i drove a very strong race and managed to give myself the best of every opportunity we had" 👏
