Ok yeah the iPad Tesla app is sweet. I’m loving all of the updates these apps are getting because of the Duo release. It feels like the rebirth of iPad comes as a direct result too 🤓

Apple ran a graphite pipe through the iPhone Duo's hinge to cool it...
Apple's first foldable has the heat problem every foldable has: it's thin when it's open, and its thickness doubles when you close it. Apple's engineers told PCMag that their fix was to route a flexible graphite pipe through the hinge itself, so heat can move between the two halves of the phone. I love that the hinge, the part everybody worries about on a folding phone, got a second job.
Banafsheh Barabadi, Apple's senior manager of thermal product design, called it "one of the most technically challenging aspects of our design." Moving heat across both halves gives the phone more surface area to get rid of it, PCMag reported. She said the thermal and mechanical teams had to engineer the part together, because it has to survive "many hinge cycles" while still carrying heat and holding together for the life of the phone.
The Duo gets its own cooling layout inside, too. PCMag reported its vapor chamber is thinner than the one in the iPhone 18 Pro and floats in the middle of the phone instead of serving as part of its frame. 9to5Mac, writing up the same interview, noted that the Duo's version of the A20 Pro chip has a second display engine so the inner and outer screens can run at the same time.
The performance numbers are Apple's. Barabadi said the latest iPhones achieve "35% higher sustained GPU performance than iPhone 17 Pro," and PCMag said it hasn't tested the A20 Pro in the Duo yet but expects to in the coming weeks.
If you've ordered one, I'd wait for those reviews before counting on it for long gaming sessions or long video recordings, the sustained workloads where Barabadi said the gains show up. And since the pipe lives in the hinge, I'd want any review that folds the phone a few thousand times to check heat as well as wear.
It's a clever trick. Now the hinge has two jobs to survive.

Losing 16 lbs in 12 weeks was a commitment I made because I didn’t want to die.
I think if all of my physical mental health protocols from that exactly extreme…
“I don’t want to die…”
It’s the singular only motivation I need to do things that are necessary that are not fun or enjoyable…
“Because I don’t want to die…”
The physical part of taking care of yourself gets let’s not these days than the mental health aspect…
Especially for people who work frame home or remotely as Entrepreneurs, Content Creators or white collar roles.
But if you don’t stay on top of both aspects and also center yourself, it will cause nothing but problems.
You also can’t just leave it to chance.
There have to be habits and lifestyle choices you make around your health.
The before after transition is obvious at a glance…
But is not obvious is the fact that many of the previous injuries that I had that caused me pain all but vanished as I put on muscle.
My energy and mental clarity skyrocketed in proportion to losing fat (got down to 14% still aiming for 12% over the next 24 weeks).
The physical aspect aided mental/emotional, and the mental aspect makes maintaining the physical easier than it would be otherwise.
You must attack with both hands…

I took these on the WB lot back in July.
At the time I didn’t realize the significance of them, but now I’m glad I was able to see the tower before the sale.

As someone who’s still in this industry, this is sad --but true.
I remember as a kid in the late 90s and early 2000s, reading tech magazines and, later, tech websites, and thinking: How cool would it be to actually do this for a living? To work with these people whose articles I read with such admiration?
I was lucky enough to live that dream.
I ended up working alongside -- and being mentored by -- some of the very people whose articles I once read in complete awe.
Years later, I got to pay some of that forward. I've had the privilege of mentoring several talented young writers myself, and I’d like to think I did a decent job at it.
That’s what makes watching this industry go through its current crisis so painful.
This wasn’t just a job I stumbled into. It was something I dreamed of doing long before I ever got paid to do it. Watching the industry that made it possible slowly lose its footing is just plain sad.
Journalism is dying; especially tech because a) the audience has stopped reading and moved to videos; they are happy with curated videos based around written articles
b) tech journalism has become so laudatory that it refuses to answer the questions readers want. Everyone is afraid of being taken off the PR list; and I mean everyone.
c) there are just not enough good editors left to train the next generation.
In short: sab log apna apna dekh lo.
