🇺🇸 Congress just passed a bill that could force you to upload your ID or scan your face to use the internet. It is called the KIDS Act, and almost nobody wants to vote against protecting children online. That is exactly the problem. Last week the House passed it 267 to 117. It bundles 14 digital safety bills together, anchored by a revised version of the Kids Online Safety Act. The bill says it does not require age verification. It even includes a disclaimer saying so. The catch is one clause away. Platforms get held liable if they "knew or should have known" a user was a minor. That is a low bar. It means a regulator decides after the fact whether a company should have figured out someone was 15. No platform wants to gamble on that, so the safe move is to just verify everyone. Here is where "protect the kids" quietly flips. To prove you are not a minor, you have to prove you are an adult. Driver's licenses, passports, or a facial scan to log on. The net does not catch children. It catches all of us. Then there is the security problem. Force millions of people to upload IDs everywhere, and somebody ends up sitting on a giant pile of passport scans and face data. The Tea app showed how it goes. It required a selfie and a government ID, promised to delete them right after, and did not. In July 2025, about 13,000 of those IDs and selfies leaked onto 4chan, some still carrying GPS data that let someone map where users lived. The KIDS Act would mandate that exact collection across the whole internet. Kids do run into real harm online, and wanting to fix that is fair. But this fix builds a surveillance system that touches every adult. Rep. Thomas Massie called it a Trojan horse bill. It now heads to the Senate. The real question is simple. Is protecting kids online worth building an internet where everyone has to prove who they are just to log on? Source: EFF, ACLU, R Street Institute, NBC News, The Hill / Writer: Julie

Am I getting too old for the internet or does anyone else find all the autoplaying short-form videos on every platform to be extremely dysregulating and an assault on the senses

Michael Saylor just said: "In the year 2045, I think that Bitcoin is worth $13 million, so every bitcoin that you don’t buy is a $13 million cost.”

If you're not buying till 50k, you need to realise what you're hoping for is a huge bid wall of institutions, HNW individuals, and OG whales to get eaten through by whatever sellers remain, after the worst of the Saylor situation has already occurred for the forseeable future, while over the next 12 months, hundreds of billions of dollars from early AI investors, funds, and team allocations gets unlocked and begins analysing the market for where to allocate that hasn't already gone exponential meanwhile the 4 year cycle bottom is set for October, only 4 months away, with everyone aiming for price to go a little lower a little later aiming for 50k would make sense if there wasn't a ginormous bid wall defending price. this same size of bid wall is exactly what occurred at every cycle bottom for BTC in it's history. if your argument for 50k is 'price keeps hitting 60k, it's ready to break, support gets weaker at every touch' you better make sure that opinion is backed by evidence, not theory, because the bids at 60k have only gotten stronger after each touch. this is because the larger contributor to bids isn't even how low price goes, it's not technicals, it's proximity to October being the 4 year cycle bottom. The closer we get, the more large players begin bidding for the next cycle and thus the more bids begin appearing. The way you buy bottoms is you don't actually try to buy the bottom, you buy when price feels low enough that the upside is assymetric, because that's realistically as close as you're going to get. Waiting for 50k, when there is a huge sum of evidence that 60k is already deep value, is greedy thinking and is extremely unlikely to be rewarded by the market. And incase you're still thinking 'this Daniel guy is an idiot', keep in mind I've been calling BTC bottoms for 7 years now: xitter.cf/cryptodan19/status/107… GLHF
$BTC bottomed in the last bear market when the RSI turned oversold on the weekly. Current RSI is just about there. BTC chart shows strong confluence that the $2900 region should act as support for a pullback. Shorts at ATH. Sentiment index at Extreme fear #bitcoin

Tipping should never be a percentage, but a set sum. 5$ 20$ or 100$ for low, mid, high end restaurants. Am I rite?

The kernel of truth is VAT (value-added tax), which is a consumption tax baked into the price of goods across the EU. Standard rates run high — roughly 19–27% depending on the country (Hungary's 27% is the top). So "Europeans pay a fat tax on stuff Americans don't"
