I say it's harder for the loss to affect me, but I don't think I've finished disassociating since yesterday and I ran into a pond on my morning run today lmao.
Sometimes, you love and care for something enough, it'll overrides years of work on emotional regulation . The careful distance you learned to put up seems like a chasm of helplessness, instead of the safe viewpoint you knew it to be.
A storm is only as devastating at the things it could and had destroyed. We grieved because there is now love with nowhere to go.

At my age, it's harder for my team losses to really affect me that negatively. I've been through this for more than 20 years. Different teams, different players, different heartbreaks.
HLE didn't play at their best today, and that's heartbreaking. It's devastating. I understand. But it isn't the end all be all of the journey. It's the end of their year, they learn, they come back next year. They'll lose, they'll win, they'll learn, repeat. All the way until the end.
And I think, for me, what always worked for me, is that if they aren't willing to give up on themselves? Why would I be so cruel as to give up on them?
So take your breaks, my HLE oomfs, take your time. We still have stove league, we will be fine. I'll be here, and I hope you will be too, with them, til the end of the line.
(Also y'all will be rid of me for 3 months from Dec cuz I'll be deployed. So enjoy your breaks from my shenanigans. I'LL BE BACK)
