A lot of people are under the mistaken impression that progress means advances in tech. Real progress is kids who are literate, free meals for public school students, a culture in which human art & poetry are celebrated. We're regressing rapidly & the only way forward is to read.

“It begins with a word as small as the cry of Athena’s owl. An ache in the cage of breath, as when we say can hardly breathe. In sleep we see our name on a stone, for instance. Or while walking in the rain among graves we feel watched.” Carolyn Forché #poetry

THANK YOU to those who amplify the posts of the #WritingCommunity. We've all seen the decline in views and engagement because of all the controversy here. To those remaining, it's more important than ever that we support fellow writers by liking and reposting each other’s work.

Seeing lit mags close after a year of running is triggering. Folks, it ain’t easy to run a lit mag, and the people that do it do it cause they love it. Support, read, buy, and Ko-fi as many lit mags as you can. The appreciation goes a LONG way. Seriously.

"In writing and ordering your poems, you are forging a self. Housing it in a stall of your own making. You are building a bearable myth. You are constructing, as much in your process as your product, some fragment of the everlasting." -- Diane Seuss

“Writing at every point is a leap into a complete unknown....At every point, you have the possibility of not being able to do it at all. You restart at every blank piece of paper. That's really exhilarating for me.” - Zadie Smith #Writer
