Urban planners removing #BlueBadge parking must understand a private vehicle for many is not a ‘2 ton wheelchair’ it is feeding station, toileting facility, medical facility, place of safety, means of emergency escape etc. In short, a mobile life support system that many NEED.

.@Cameron_Poole95 be grateful if we could urgently meet with you pls about the floating bus stops which are being built on East Hill in Colchester as part of the cycle scheme. These are not safe or accessible for blind people & are dangerous to all bus passengers & pedestrians.

Another addition to making shops a hostile environment. Went to Co-op where I hardly ever go now because of impossible doors on chiller cabinets & had a ‘close pass’ by a giant Roomba shrieking “CAUTION” at me. 😱 #DisabledByTheSupermarkets. 🧵

I mentioned it at the checkout & staff member said “Oh that thing. We hate it. Do you know they pay £1200 a month to lease it.” No doubt a visible reminder to all staff that they are expendable and will all be replaced by robots soonest. #UnemploymentCrisis

MP for York Outer makes unsubstantiated claims in his press column propoganda. Writes Haxby Station is “progressing”. Wait, what ? It doesn’t even have planning consent despite plans submitted in Feb 24. If it’s built by 2028 I’ll eat my extensive hat collection @lukejcr❗️

@SunriseMedical have you anyone who might assist Flick in getting her Empulse charged the soonest? Thanks for your attention!
It’s another one of THOSE days then. The replacement battery charger I have been waiting for for over a month to come from Germany has finally arrived and is the wrong one 😩 They had the serial number of the Empulse and a photograph of the socket. I just despair.

@andyburnham Every day, still, vulnerable, disabled, chronically ill, and Covid-conscious people have to make the choice between accessing urgent healthcare and keeping themselves safe. It's time the two were as one and we could ALL access SAFE healthcare. @BuDs_UK @scope
Undergoing a series of tests - as if I didn’t already have enough health conditions !! Today’s challenge = breathing test that requires mask removal just as vast numbers of people are getting sick & new wave takes off. Have HEPA but will decline if set up isn’t safe #YouDoYou

#NineEleven I was asked if I remembered where I was in 2001 when it happened. I was working (for a DPO) from home that day supporting a single mother whose disabled child was being discriminated against at school to take a DDA case. I was on the phone to her when she screamed at me to turn on the TV. Yesterday, 25 years later I was in court fighting an Equality Act case.

Agenda pack for Council confirms that the cycle tracks on the East side of the Station Gateway project will open next month (October). That coincides with blind /VI people from across the country converging in London to protest floating bus stops. @NFBUK

I anticipate this is the section that will see the most collisions and near misses. Owing to the downhill gradient which will increase cyclist speed, the zebra crossing is not obvious from a distance & will be the most heavily used crossing by pedestrians as closest to station.

#AssistedSuicide As a disabled person with 11 conditions listed on their Universal Credit claim, I anticipate being offered the death service at medical appointments if this bill becomes law. I mean they pestered me 6 times about having a DNAR at the start of C19 so seems entirely likely. It’s motivated by eugenics, not is what in my best interests and will destroy my last bit of trust in healthcare. The system sees me as ‘circling the drain’, the bean counters will push for me to opt into washing myself down the plug hole. It fills me with dread.

Now all the temporary summer entertainment structures have been removed from Parliament St. the additional subsidence is striking. 2D photos can’t capture the extent of the problem but traversing it in a wheelchair does‼️Felt very unsafe. #DrySummerSinking

In a deeply cynical letter to the Times Chris_Boardman says blind people should be able travel independently and be involved in designing floating bus stops. He knows they have been involved from 2013, telling the authorities endlessly that blind people would be excluded from their bus services. All the major blind persons charities are saying the same. @gilescoren @laurencesleator @edwardlucas

Asked to film for TV news on permanent Anti Terror TRO that gets rubber stamped Wednesday. I declined. We cannot question its use as decisions are shrouded in intelligence secrecy. Access will always lose up against unquantifiable ‘safety’ #BlueBadgeExclusion
Replying to @YorkDisability
A permanent ATTRO is a certainty. The question becomes does it stay largely dormant or is it used with increasing frequency until we have no access at all again. In light of the attitude of the Chief Constable & the illegal war we are participating in, I predict the latter.

The design team has responded. The pavement stripes are purely ‘illustrative’ not an intention to paint stripes. Illustrative of what then ⁉️ The fact that artistic impressions of a scheme bear no relation to what is actually intended to be built. Give me strength 🙄
When you give a community crayons to reimagine their neighbourhood this is the nonsense you get. NO to painting striped pavements, causes problems for many impairment groups. Localism cannot override accessibility. Gets rubber stamped next week 😤
