Camping overrated. Sleeping on the ground sucks. What a way to ruin a good hike.

i read columbus's "term sheet" TIL that in addition to a 10% share of net profit, columbus had an explicit contractual option to fund 12.5% of future expeditions in exchange for 12.5% of their profits apparently getting allocation in the next round mattered even in 1492 es.wikisource.org/wiki/Capit…
I maintain that King Ferdinand II and Queen Isabella I were the first venture capitalists.

Beacon memory now supports @subquadratic alongside Jev, both via the System One decisions API! Pick your evaluator with one flag, and Beacon turns the sessions that worked into lessons every agent reuses over MCP! Github link in comments 👇
Introducing SubQ Snap, the first long-context decision model for real enterprise work. Snap is the only decision model or LLM where compute per token stays constant as context grows. • 384K tokens of multimodal context, 12x larger than Jev. • 61.7 on Decision Index v0.2.1 vs Jev’s 57.9, outperforming on 13 of 16 enterprise benchmarks. •Processes 100K tokens and returns a decision in under one second. •$0.05/MM input tokens. Output is free. Available today to anyone. The first 10,000 sign-ups get 100M free input tokens. We’ll likely hit capacity fast and will add users as we add compute. Compute offers welcome 🙂. Latency will be variable as we tune the platform to this new model and category of users. Model speeds are 80ms for minimal context, 250ms for 32k, 660ms for 100k, and 2.5 seconds for 384k. AI agents are generating an unprecedented amount of runtime data, yet we're throwing away most of its value! Every agent session reveals what worked, what failed, and where time was wasted. But as agents take on more complex work, extracting those insights from raw logs becomes nearly impossible. Introducing Beacon Lenses 🔍 Turn any agent trace into an interactive tool to: → Debug failures → Inspect code changes → Identify bottlenecks → Analyze costs → Investigate security risks Beacon ships with 7+ built-in lenses, but you can build your own for any use case. Just tell your coding agent what you want to explore, and it can generate a custom lens you can use directly in Beacon Cloud. Your agent traces aren't just logs anymore. They're building blocks for entirely new tools. Start building: beacon.sh Docs in the comments 👇

Not breaking news imo. All of the non-frontier labs are just a few months behind, and that will likely still be true 6 months from now.
JUST IN: Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch says the company is "a few months away" from catching up to frontier labs, per Le Parisien.

Our phone agent at @LighthouseLegAI handles personal injury intake for law firms, and it used to leave some callers in an awkward silence. When someone asked for a person by name, it went quiet for a couple seconds, long enough for the caller to wonder if we hung up. The cause was overlooked cold starts... if a firm hadn't gotten a call in a while, everything had to wake up mid-conversation. The fix was simple, just move the lookup to before we even answer the call. Then it got fast enough to talk over people... I go more into detail on my blog. ryanyannelli.com/blog/debugg…

Another insane Beacon use case! Your coding agent hits a context limit, a rate limit, or a wall. You switch tools… and start explaining everything from scratch. Beacon by @asymptotelabs fixes that with handoffs: move an in-progress task to any other harness, with the context that actually matters. Handoffs work across all the major harnesses: →Claude Code →Codex →Cursor → OpenCode, and 20+ more GitHub repo: github.com/Asymptote-Labs/ag… (don't forget to star it ⭐) Beacon already captures your full session history across harnesses. But dumping a raw transcript into a new agent isn't a handoff. It's noise. Most sessions are full of dead ends, failed commands, and stale assumptions. The next agent doesn't need all of it. It needs: →what the task is → what's been tried and ruled out → what changed in the code → what the human corrected along the way → what's left to do Beacon distills the session into exactly that, and any harness can pick up where the last one stopped. In the demo video, Claude Code hits its limit mid-fix. I hand off to Codex, which already knows the goal, the failed approach, and my correction, and finishes the job. Hand off to any harness. Your work shouldn't be locked inside one agent.
