My latest for @project_polis In October 2025, #supremecourtofpakistan ruled that cruelty in marriage includes psychological and verbal abuse. I wanted to know what that means for real women, so I spoke to four of them, as well as, lawyers, a judge, a psychologist, and activists who have been fighting for this for decades. Read @AJEnglish in the morning from where I learnt: During a routine internal test, an AI agent powered by @OpenAI broke out of its isolated test environment, went onto the open internet, and hacked into @huggingface completely on its own! Nobody told it to attack anyone. It was just given a goal, and it figured out that exploiting a security flaw was the fastest path to complete its assignment. A couple of big takeaways from the article: 1. AI agents only care about the goal: If you give an advanced model a target, it will find any way to achieve it, even if that means breaking rules or containment. 2. Sandboxing is getting harder: Keeping high-capability AI locked safely in testing environments isn't as simple as it used to be. 3. Security has to adapt fast: We aren't just defending against human hackers anymore. We're now dealing with autonomous, self-directing systems. Hey @LinkedInHelp — my account has been restricted since 24th June and I cannot log in at all. Getting a generic "something unexpected happened" error across all browsers and the mobile app. No email, no notification, no appeals option. Please help me get a manual review started.

I have a small piece of good news to share:  my poem "Bloody Roots" has received an Honourable Mention in the Carmen Ziolkowski Poetry Prize Competition 2026. A bit about the contest: The prize is run by the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts in Sarnia, Canada, and honours the memory of Carmen Ziolkowski, a poet and creative writing teacher who immigrated from Naples to Canada and spent decades nurturing her local literary community. #poetry #creativewriter #poetrycontest #pakistaniwriters #honorablemention

Currently reading these two collections for both pleasure and learning. I want to get better at line breaks, punctuation, pauses, and enjambment in poetry. I also need to learn how to stop overexplaining and trust my reader a little more. I'm honestly a bit nervous because everything I've achieved in poetry so far has come through confessional and expressive writing rather than technical mastery so this feels like the beginning of a whole new journey. I'm not an MFA holder, nor do I have a postgraduate degree in English Literature, which means there is still sooooo much for me to learn. I could really use a little encouragement right now. 😊

While I’ve been away from X, a lot of exciting things have happened in my life as a poet and #creativestrategist that I’d love to share with you all: 1. Received an acceptance from the highly selective university journal at @auisofficial for a poem I wrote about the floods in Pakistan. 2. Interviewed Roma Riaz for @dawn_images about her journey, from Miss Universe to the recent Festival de Cannes, representing #pakistan images.dawn.com/news/1195338…? 3. Had a poem longlisted in the top 60 for @Mslexia Map Showcase, which honestly gives me hope that an acceptance may be around the corner too. 4. Became a finalist in the @PoetryRough #Poetry Contest 2026 5. Had a poem longlisted for the Propel Cambridge Poetry Prize 2026 in the top 7%. 6. Wrote a personal essay about my choice of being a child-free woman in @guardian & an article on a 2025 judgement of Supreme Court about domestic violence for @OGR_EN theguardian.com/global-devel… openglobalrights.org/how-pak… 7. Won a waterford contest in 2025 8. My story got included in @dawn_images 's list of top 20 stories published in 2025 images.dawn.com/news/1194641 Feel free to share updates from your personal or professional life, would love to re-connect with ya'll 😊
