RAF Spadeadam is hoping to rescue a cow that's stranded in a gorge in a local beauty spot. Animal charities have been unable to reach the animal, which is stuck near the Crammel Linn waterfall near Brampton. A helicopter and a sling will be used to lift it to safety at 1430.

I recently visited the church at Crosby Ravensworth in #Cumbria It is an excellent medieval church, most famous for the C15 tomb of Sir Lancelot Threlkeld. However, they seem to be using the tomb as a table for brewing up! #medieval #History @butchersarms @CumbriaCrack – at Appleby-in-Westmorland, England
