Hi folks, I’m still looking for a Sr Design Manager, Director, or possibly VP of Design role. I’m specifically looking for only remote or Seattle-based roles. I’m interested in management-only roles, not hybrid IC/manager roles. Please share. Comment/DM if you know of a role. #ux

Very disappointing to see that @TwitterSpaces has apparently ditched captioning entirely.
I'd hoped the reports were due to a temporary glitch, but evidently it's a permanent decision.
Big loss for inclusion and accessibility.

It brings me no great pleasure to say that for all intents and purposes, @TwitterA11y is defunct.
I wish it wasn't – there was so much we had planned – but here we are.
I don't know what's going to happen this weekend. I don't know if I'll still have a job next week, or if the team will exist any more.
But to everyone who's got in touch to offer support, either directly to me, or to @TwitterA11y, please know that you are hugely appreciated 🙏

I am officially no longer the Engineering Manager for the Accessibility Experience Team at Twitter. I have words. 🧵

Leading Twitter’s Accessibility journey has been such a privilege and honor. And I got to do it with my people #OneTeam. Before joining Twitter, a culture like this seemed like a dream, which came true for me. Thank u all for your love, support and allyship. #LoveWhereYouWorked

The overall coverage of Fetterman is a perfect encapsulation of society’s aversion to disability. It’s not normal, a failing of the human condition.
As a lifelong disabled person, I know this when I see it. You, individually may be empathetic, but people are not.

Replying to @cozimek @salesforce
For others looking to update/change "master," here's the resource we created @Salesforce for our teams to help find alternatives covering a few different scenarios.

ALT Replacing "master" in the naming system. If using master to express prioritization, then instead use main, primary, or principal If using master to refer to the source for replication, then instead use source or main If using master to express control, then instead use leader/leading, active, or controller If using as an adjective before a noun, then instead use main, primary, principal. If using to imply someone's skill, then you can proceed as usual.

Just noticed that @Salesforce updated language like "Master Record" to "Principal Record" throughout the service. Well done.

You might have heard the black hole scream. Now, get ready to hear @NASAWebb images sing.
On Aug. 31, experience Webb data in a whole new way. Plus, tune into a special @TwitterSpaces with the people who turn space into sound, touch & more. Set a reminder.xitter.cf/i/spaces/1PlJQaOXRRWJE

Accessibility should be part of every feature,
not a feature of its own.

Telling isn't teaching.
Listening isn't learning.
The mere thought that someone tells you something once and you can suddenly be proficient at doing that thing is ludicrous.
Yet, most training sessions you'll see are nearly 100% talking at people.

How to instantly improve any accessibility checklist for any role:
Make the first item in the checklist:

Quick Accessibility Tip: Keyboard. Keyboard. Keyboard.
Want to have a massive impact on accessibility for your product, right away?
Do sprint demos/reviews with a keyboard only. No mouse.

One of my favourite podcasts has transcripts - but they’re considered a premium feature that you have to pay for.
That’s not ok.
It is no longer one of my favourite podcasts.
