New episode of the pod is out, and guys, The Fire is truly Rising with this one. . .
Very proud to announce that my interview with @MatthewMWolfe about his new book "Fires in the Night" is now out. Covering an extensive swath of eco-activist history and federal infiltration, all based around Eugene, Oregon, this is already essential listening for any PNWeirdo.
Late night reading. I am attempting to make Colonche (pre-hispanic fermented drink made from prickly pear)

Here's what's replacing four 200-year-old cottonwood trees, the last of which went down today after a 71-day tree-sit protest ended with aggressive arrests.
So bleak.

Border Patrol has officially felled the Lochiel cottonwood tree that activists have been sleeping in and under since July 27th to block further construction of the double border wall.
As the tree came down, activists screamed and howled, then tried to rush past Border Patrol agents to stop the removal.

BREAKING: DHS contractors are toppling the last of four ancient cottonwoods to build double border walls across the San Rafael Valley.
The wall cuts through the key remaining wildlife corridor for endangered jaguars between Arizona and Sonora, where human border crossings are seldom seen.
A protest camp had occupied and protected this tree for more than 60 days, halting construction. The camp was raided and campers were arrested this morning.
This wall will effectively lock the remaining jaguars in the U.S. into solitary confinement, while permanently marring one of the last remaining wild places along the Arizona border.

Such an awesome assortment of myco life popping up around this time in the PNW. All of these found just walking around my apartment complex after the rain.
