🇧🇪 2002 Belgian Grand Prix Car 4 🇫🇮 Kimi Räikkönen - McLaren MP4-17 Mercedes V10 Qualifying - 🥈 Race - Lap 35 Engine 💥 During qualifying at the 2002 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, Olivier Panis’s BAR-Honda suffered a blown engine heading up the high-speed section after Eau Rouge/Raidillon toward the Kemmel Straight. The failure coated the track in a thick, blinding cloud of white smoke and oil. Panizzi dominated early on the tight, dry asphalt stretches, proving the agility of high-revving naturally aspirated Kit Cars on the "Rally of 10,000 Turns."  Mäkinen's Cow Incident: Championship contender Tommi Mäkinen suffered electrical issues on Leg 1 before a bizarre collision with a cow on Leg 2 sent his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V off the road into a riverbed, forcing his retirement.  Sainz and Moya Mechanical Woes: Carlos Sainz fought near the front in his Toyota Corolla WRC until brake issues on Leg 2 derailed his challenge, leaving him down in 8th place.  McRae's Masterclass: Colin McRae and co-driver Nicky Grist paced themselves expertly as the stages grew longer.
