During qualifying at the 2002 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, Olivier Panis’s BAR-Honda suffered a blown engine heading up the high-speed section after Eau Rouge/Raidillon toward the Kemmel Straight. The failure coated the track in a thick, blinding cloud of white smoke and oil.
While other drivers backed off or approached with extreme caution due to near-zero visibility, 22-year-old Kimi Räikkönen (driving for McLaren-Mercedes) kept his foot hard on the throttle, driving completely flat-out through the wall of smoke at well over 180+ mph (300 km/h).
When asked about the moment afterward, Kimi famously brushed off the danger with his signature nonchalance, treating it as completely routine.

Released to celebrate Ford's rally successes, the Monte Carlo edition was strictly limited to just 200 units worldwide and was offered in only three factory colors: Ash Black, Mallard Green, and the striking Jewel Violet (with only a handful of right-hand-drive units allocated to the UK).
It features the signature massive rear wing, permanent four-wheel-drive, the turbocharged 2.0-litre Cosworth YBT engine pumping out around 224 to 227 bhp, and unique touches like 16-inch O.Z. Racing alloy wheels, Recaro sports seats with "Motorsport" logos, and a numbered dashboard plaque.
This car was sourced and sold by Gl Automotive.

Running Out of Fuel:
The immediate cause of the retirement was running out of fuel while ascending the mountain near The Cutting.
Race Incidents and Damage:
Earlier in the day, the car’s progress had been hampered by a series of miscues and minor on-track impacts. Both Jones and Crompton made small driving errors that resulted in bodywork and handling damage, making a tough race even harder before it finally spluttered to a halt.
While their teammates (Win Percy and Allan Grice) successfully brought the lead HRT Commodore home to a brilliant second-place finish, car 7’s day ended prematurely.
(The chassis used for this car—HRT 027—subsequently earned the affectionate nickname "Elvis" due to the remarkable number of heavy hits and bumps it accumulated over its short racing career).

🇦🇺 2015 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 - Aussie Racing Cars Super Series Support Race.
Footage of a terrifying high-speed crash involving Aussie Racing Cars driver Damien Flack on October 10, 2015, during the support races for the Bathurst 1000 at the Mount Panorama Circuit.
The Cause:
While racing down the ultra-fast Conrod Straight at speeds reaching roughly 230 km/h, Damien was inadvertently clipped from behind by his brother and fellow competitor, Adrian Flack.
The Impact:
The contact sent Damien's car spinning violently out of control, launching it roof-first into the outside concrete barrier.
The Roll and Fire:
The car barrel-rolled between 10 and 12 times, largely disintegrating upon impact, and instantly catching fire once it finally came to a halt.
Injuries and Recovery:
Miraculously, Damien was conscious and alert when medical teams arrived. He was airlifted to the hospital having escaped more critical harm, though he suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung.
The accident took place during a support category race for the main V8 Supercars Bathurst 1000 weekend.
Officials credited the robust safety cell and roll cage of the Aussie Racing Car chassis with saving his life as well as the track side marshals and medical staff.
