1/ The FDIC just approved @Mercury Bank, N.A.'s application for deposit insurance.
One step closer to opening Mercury Bank!. There is still work between here and opening Mercury Bank’s virtual doors, which should happen in 2027.
I started Mercury in 2017 because I wanted to build the bank I wished had existed when I was running my previous companies. Going from a fintech with bank partners to a tech company with an actual bank has been the vision from the beginning.
Finally @mercury has launched physical checkbooks. This was one of the last things requiring me to have a local bank... so when that kid walked into the shop asking for a yearbook advertisement, I could pay him. Seems crazy, but yes in 2026. Thank you @MaxTagher and team.
No idea if it will continue, but the HRDPS is spot on right now for Cumberland County. @webberweather @RaleighWx
An insane amount of sleet in Wendell. Just never see something quite like this. @webberweather @NWSRaleigh
How can you fly @Delta, they cancel your flight and offer to rebook you on a cheaper flight and you decline, they tell you your refund amount, send you a refund receipt, an only refund you 1/3 of what they told you. “Sorry a computer glitch gave the agent the wrong amount”

One of the biggest reasons I considered local banking was faster check deposits, and the ability to right a check. I still would love to be able to right a check on my @mercury account but for now, I'll keep a local account.

Happy 20th Birthday Mac OS X! I still remember when we named you. In a small room in IL1. When Steve slashed a large X on the wall and smiled. Look at how far you’ve come from a young Cheetah.
