I was at a conference recently.
Almost HALF the people there were building an AI writing tool.
Not one could explain what made theirs different.
We faced the same issue at Exploding Topics when we first launched.
Here's how we positioned ourselves to stand out in a competitive space:

We rank #1 in Google for a high-intent keyword.
The bad news?
That #1 result sits below a stack of ads and a giant AI overview.
Which means fewer clicks than the old days, honestly.
But here's some upside: we also show up inside the AI overview as a suggested tool, and again in the sources list.
Which means we show up THREE times in the SERPs.
IMO, SEO works more like social media now.
It's about being seen everywhere on the page, not getting a single blue link position.

AI isn't replacing marketers... it's hiring them.
82% of AI-forward teams are growing headcount.
The shift 👉 Execution → strategy bottlenecks.
If your #SEO strategy hasn't evolved, you're already behind.

I'm kinda known as an SEO guy. So this is a little painful to admit:
Our best marketing channel at Exploding Topics is... a weekly email.
Here's the story:
When we asked customers where they learn about trends, we expected them all to say "social media!".
But we noticed the same channel come up again and again: newsletters.
A huge amount of trend content is sent out via email. In fact, a lot of the top Substacks are focused on trends in ecommerce, tech, and investing.
The bad news? We were a trend company.... without a newsletter.
So we started a weekly newsletter ASAP. It's called Exploding Topics Tuesday.
Nothing fancy. Every Tuesday we send out a handful of interesting trends and why they're growing.
That newsletter has grown to over 155,000 subscribers.
And at one point it was driving approx 25% of our total MRR (!).
The funny thing is, you don't need an MBA for this sort of insight. Our customers were reading newsletters, so we started a newsletter.
Sometimes business really is that simple.

77% of consumers now use AI to shop.
But nearly 1 in 3 wouldn't let #AI spend a single dollar for them.

The AI workplace anxiety is real, and the data proves it.
New research from @explodingtopics reveals that only 9.8% of workers have NO concerns about using AI at work. That means 90% of employees are wrestling with some level of AI-related fear.
The biggest concerns?
- 48.8% worry about privacy and security
- 43.3% fear AI might make them look replaceable
- 42.1% question AI output quality and accuracy
These fears won't disappear by ignoring them.
The companies that will thrive with AI are the ones that:
✅ Address security concerns head-on with proper protocols
✅ Train employees to work WITH AI, not compete against it
✅ Create clear guidelines for AI quality control
Your team's concerns about AI aren't obstacles. They are roadmaps for better implementation.

How do some people sell products, build apps, or make TikToks that ride a trend before it even becomes one? 🧵
One of the easiest ways to catch trends early is to use @explodingtopics. When they publish something, both big and small companies pay attention.
Exploding Topics constantly monitors public data, analyzing large volumes of online content in real time: search queries, social media, forums, niche blogs, and product or startup databases like Product Hunt
Using machine learning, it detects
• fast growing keywords, even with low current volume
• related topics starting to appear together across different platforms
• sudden shifts in sentiment, usage, or geographic interest
After the automated analysis, a human team
• filters out false positives
• removes short lived or irrelevant trends
• tags and categorizes each trend by sector (tech, AI, beauty, etc)
I’ve seen people make millions just by spotting trends early, from listing products on TikTok Shop months before they blew up, to launching apps around keywords no one was targeting yet, to posting in niches no one knew about.
