I don't think enough people realise just how terrified disabled people are right now because of @UKLabour @patmcfaddenmp & @Keir_Starmer
I also don't think enough people realise that every single person is 1 life event/illness away from becoming disabled themselves. #Disability

Why are left leaning presenters, who are regularly invited on Jeremy Vine show to give an impression of balance, silent about this blatant lie used to excuse repeated debates on disabled draining our resources? That’s cowardly & shameful. No different to Carole Malone really
Perhaps the most troubling thing this week is that @theJeremyVine has spoken extensively about the abuse, pile-on and hurt he experienced, yet I’ve heard remarkably little acknowledgement of the hurt #disabled people and carers were trying to explain in the first place.

Jeremy Vine has now deleted the post where he brings up the fact my uncle died of MND.
Guess he didn’t realise the internet is forever 🤦🏼♀️
Deleted it. No apology. Just “how do I stop more people seeing it” 🙄
He’s so spineless it’s unreal.
I thought I was finished talking about the Jeremy Vine situation.
But something has really bothered me: the silence from progressive voices who regularly sit on that panel.
I’ve looked for people publicly standing alongside disabled people and acknowledging why so many of us are angry, and I’m struggling to find it.
People seem far more comfortable saying “support carers” than saying “support disabled people”. Both matter. Disability rights are equality rights too.
I’m not asking anyone to attack a colleague. I’m asking: **where is the solidarity?**

Jeremy Vine bringing up my deceased uncle who died a horrific death from MND to let me know he’s sad to see me expressing how disabled people are feeling.
This man has no level he won’t stoop to
It’s not a pile on. Disabled people &carers are done with you targeting us constantly

End Disability Hate Petition
I’ve done it.
I’ve launched a petition calling for a **National Disability Hate Strategy for the UK**.
And I want to explain why.
Because I am sick and tired of disabled people being treated as acceptable targets.
Over the last few years, I have watched the language around disability get uglier and uglier.
Scrounger.
Fraudster.
Fake.
Workshy.
A burden on the taxpayer.
We see people being questioned because they can stand up from a wheelchair.
Challenged because they use a Blue Badge but don't "look disabled".
Judged because they have a Motability car.
Accused of faking because their disability fluctuates.
And disabled people are increasingly expected to prove themselves to complete strangers.
I've experienced disability abuse myself.
But through this platform, I've also heard from so many of you who have experienced it.
And then there's the way disability is discussed publicly.
We've seen headlines portraying disabled people and benefit claimants as a problem to be solved.
We've seen endless conversations about who's *really* disabled, who's *disabled enough*, and who deserves support.
We've even reached the point where politicians are publicly talking about distinguishing between people with "severe" disabilities and everybody else.
Words matter.
Because disability hate doesn't suddenly begin when somebody commits a hate crime.
It starts with stigma.
It starts with suspicion.
It starts with misinformation.
It starts when society is repeatedly told that disabled people are costing too much, claiming too much or somehow getting something everybody else is paying for.
And eventually somebody thinks it's acceptable to challenge that wheelchair user.
To abuse that Blue Badge holder.
To film somebody getting out of their Motability car.
To call somebody a benefit scrounger.
Or to send abuse to a disabled person online.
So I'm asking the Government to develop and fund a **National Disability Hate Strategy**, co-produced with Disabled People's Organisations.
Not another conversation *about* us.
Something created **with us**.
Something that looks at prevention, education, policing, online abuse and support for people who experience disability hate.
Because disabled people should not have to prove their disability to strangers.
We shouldn't be frightened of using the support we're entitled to.
And we shouldn't have to accept abuse as simply part of being disabled.
The petition is now live.

Please sign it.
Please share it.
And if you've experienced disability hate yourself, tell people why you're signing.
Because the more of us who speak up, the harder we are to ignore.
**Disabled people are not targets.
And disability hate should never be normal.** @paulapeters2 @relish_hendy @1kilroywashere @TheMeldrew @hewitson10 @RachelCDailey_ @TheCanaryUK @mssocietyuk @GMCDP @InclusionLondon

The reason why the name Muhammad tops the list of boys’ names is very simple. This is a long post to explain it because some people struggle to understand basic maths.
Imagine 10 boys are born in a town:
3 boys are from Muslim families.
7 boys are from non-Muslim families.
The 3 Muslim families choose different spellings of the same name:
1 boy: Muhammad
1 boy: Mohammed
1 boy: Mohammad
That’s 3 different boys with the same name spelt differently.
The other 7 boys are:
1 boy: Noah
1 boy: Leo
1 boy: Luca
1 boy: Theo
1 boy: Oliver
1 boy: Ethan
1 boy: Elijah
The name Muhammad appears as the most common. It does not mean that most boys have that name.
In this example, 7 out of 10 boys are still not named Muhammad.
In reality, around 5,000 children are named Muhammad out of roughly 220,000 boys born.

Reduced to “mother and wife” your entire life, only for your name to not even appear on your own gravestone. That’s what dehumanization looks like.

we're going to see unprecedented levels of teens playing on the street this summer, followed by unprecedented levels of curtain-twitchers posting photographs of teens on facebook going "WHOS KIDS R THESE. WHY ARE THEY OUTSIDE MY HOUSE. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE POLICE"

When you’re chronically ill you experience symptoms daily that would send a healthy person to the hospital.
We can’t go to the hospital every time something hurts.
If we did, we would live there.
That’s life with chronic illness. You adjust to constant suffering.

New #Labour MP, #LaurenEdwards, is bringing back the #AssistedDyingBill. Here's the way she uses #disability slurs. Does anyone believe #disabled people's lives are safe in her hands?! (And how DID the same bill get pulled out of the hat twice in a row?)

It would be nice, wouldn't it, to go online, open up a paper or turn on the TV for one day in the UK, and not see some talking head attack #disabled people for needing #SocialSecurity that is their basic human right, and demanding cuts. It would be a decent society to wake up in.
That last point thrown in there, that's what it's all about. It's Digital I.D by stealth, hidden by "protect our kids" bs.
🚨 SUMMARY: The UK's social media ban for children from early 2027:
- "User-to-user" apps where people create, share and interact with content (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, X, Facebook) will be banned for under-16s
- WhatsApp, Signal and YouTube Kids will be exempt
- Under-16s will also be banned from livestreaming, messaging strangers on gaming apps like Discord and using disappearing messages
- 16 and 17 year olds will face nightly social media curfews and limits on infinite scrolling with more details next month
- AI "romantic companion" chatbots will be banned for under-18s
- Adults can still access social media through age checks like facial recognition, digital IDs, passports and credit cards
