We can help with that: Today we reported 4 overflowing public garbage cans using UAV Aerial imagery and Machine Vision. westcoastdynamics.com/
We got @JBoyer_Good surveying the new trash cans and the old ones too. These are better than the current ones, but trash cans are not the Messiah to our city’s trash problems. People still have to use them and the trash cans have to be emptied before overflowing.

Out in the Mission this morning with the @CleanStreets3 crew and Brian of West Coast Dynamics (westcoastdynamics.com) who we’ve been partnering with to use drones that detect trash and dumped items, then automatically report to 311. The early results are amazing!

Flew a UAV over 13 miles of Bayview streets each day capturing 30,000 images of the streets and sidewalks. Using a custom Faster Mask RCNN model identified some 438 piles of garbage left on the streets or sidewalks in 24 days. Geolocated and reported all.
