We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model. We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results. github.com/openai/math

Just published The Synthesis is Here in The American Scholar. Key points: 1) Synthiety—a social order where human society & AI are inextricably integrated. 2) Shaping synthiety requires both the Liberal Arts & tech wisdom. 3) Pragmatic proposals. #AI #LiberalArts #Synthiety

This has been a long time coming. Announcing GSI and our first release: the first full-stack product for state-of-the-art robotics data. Built by roboticists, for robotics. Starting today, you can get a lightweight 6 camera cap and wrist cameras: fully wireless, ergonomic, and sensor complete. From there, Grounded API produces SOTA 3D enrichments at the click of a button. From meeting my co-founder @vincentjliu during my first year at Stanford, we’ve been waiting for this moment in AI. Fast forward through my PhD with @pabbeel at UC Berkeley and our work on EgoZero and FeeltheForce. We've come full circle. Immense gratitude to our early investors @pabbeel @naval @LerrelPinto @Thom_Wolf @_milankovac_ @rob_fergus and many others. All success in robotics comes down to leveraging the best data. Today, that is where we start.
Grounded API is live. - SOTA on hand-tracking benchmarks (< 1 cm) - SOTA on SLAM benchmarks - In-the-wild ego data -> enriched data in minutes - Integration with @huggingface @LeRobotHF & @rerundotio - Built for @BitRobotNetwork RoboCap suite Technical report & more↓

Something that’s insufficiently appreciated about AI safety is the way it can be paradoxical. E.g., the huggingface incident — which could have been avoided given better preparation [1] — was the most safety-promoting event of the year so far. Hard to predict the ultimate effect of any particular strategy [1] openai.com/index/hugging-fac…
If I wanted to maximize AI risk, I would pursue the following policy: 1. Immediately pause⏸️ the algorithmic progress coming from the labs, while continuing to allow compute from the hardware companies to exponentially pile up. 2. Focus really hard on safety, so as to avoid spooking the public with the sort of industrial accidents that even the current level of algorithms+compute can produce. This policy will minimize the number of AI accidents that occur in the next five years, causing the public+govt to not freak out about AI, all while a massive amount of hardware accumulates on the planet. That way, once algorithmic progress gets eventually restarted, there’ll be enough compute built up for a huge unexpected FOOM that no one can control. On the other hand, if I wanted to minimize AI risk, I would do approximately the opposite of this.

This was a blast to partner on - @bea_yankelevich is doing incredible work
check out how AI helps scientists with quantum computing research @bea_yankelevich at MIT's EQuS group used GPT-5.6 Sol with Codex to run routine measurements on quantum chips, so she could accelerate her experiment design openai.com/index/codex-quant…

While a resolution to Navier-Stokes is the highlight of today, this plot is really the headline result to me. Our ongoing training run demonstrates unprecedented performance on mathematics research, as measured by our model's estimated performance on a collection of **open** math problems. Of course, to settle Navier-Stokes, we took this model and also scaled test-time compute allll the way up.
Replying to @OpenAI
This model represents a step-function improvement on many benchmarks, and its training is ongoing. Our internal model group arrived at the Navier–Stokes solution in 88 hours, using around 10,000 coordinating AI agents. Throughout the effort, we maintained the strict safeguards—including monitoring and isolation—that we apply to all our frontier evaluations.

We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

In addition to many other advancements from Astra, its game development capabilities are quite impressive. Very excited to see what the community is able to build with this! openai.com/index/gpt-6-astra…

Computer Use in Astra has crossed a threshold where it is now a core capability of a flagship release. It is the culmination of many months of intentional work across many teams at OpenAI. There are still kinks being ironed out, but I expect we will soon reach the “coding moment for computer use” where we will all look back and find it odd that people used to manually take actions on computers at all.
This is GPT-6 Astra. Anything you can do on a computer, Astra can do for you. Fast.

Personal update, I started a company earlier this year with @rolandtshen! It’s been an amazing ride at @tryramp, joining as a founding member of the Workflows team when we were still in a WeWork, to seeing the company grow to $44B, 75,000 customers, and a team of 2000. Grateful for the lifelong friendships and for all the lessons I’ll take forward from seeing a generational company built on the inside: the bias towards constantly shipping, building an incredibly talent-dense team, and always scaling your ambition. We’re tackling one of the largest verticals out there and are already helping early partners rebuild operational workflows in an AI-native way. Our team today is ex-founders and staff engineers. We’re growing and looking for folks that thrive in an environment that optimizes for velocity. If this sounds exciting to you or a friend, please reach out!

This actually not the version of GPT-5.6 Sol on Cerebras. Just normal /fast mode. Running it at 750+ TPS is a whole other thing.
GPT-5.6 Sol on 750 Token/s in Blender. Not sped up. Holy moly. That’s so much more impressive than looking at benchmarks

if you like watching videos on 2x speed you might like watching GPT-sol do things with CUA here's GPT- Sol making a cannon in Blender (but this video is NOT sped up) make CUA fast again

re: people asking about 750 TPS / configs > 5.6 Sol Ultra > fast mode > GUI only. No MCP / Bpy xitter.cf/mckbrando/status/20754…
This is real and it is not 750 TPS. Anyone with 5.6 Sol Ultra on fast mode can reproduce this! It’s all GUI interactions with CUA. No MCP or bpy needed.
