I know pregnant people get hate for talking about pregnancy a lot, but I promise you we stay pretty damn quiet for how absolutely unhinged and alien the experience is—despite being a fairly universal one

“You should have multiple streams of income.” No. Jobs should pay a thriving wage. We should have universal basic income & healthcare & housing & no one should have to work so hard to have their basic needs met. Stop letting capitalism make you think grind culture is a flex.

Take a listen to some of the calls taken in the office… the threats are unhinged and all too common. LANGUAGE WARNING.
Threats of violence over politics has increased heavily in the last few years. But the darkness has reached new lows. My new interns made this compilation of recent calls they’ve received while serving in my DC office. WARNING: this video contains foul & graphic language.

Feeling down about yesterdays DC primary but grateful for the hopeful insights in this thread This city needs change that works for everyone, not just the wealthy. I’m excited to continue to help push for that. And grateful for a safe, peaceful election
☀️Good Morning, Neighbors! Here are my thoughts on yesterday... A long 🧵 1. Yesterday, DC voters overwhelmingly chose progressive candidates for the DC council. We will have essentially a 9-4 progressive council. With ranked choice voting it would have easily been 10-3. 1/12

your regular reminder that DC is a real place people live. We dealt with Proud Boys roaming the streets. We watched as one of the most locked down places in the city got overrun, and as bombs were discovered. We couldn't move freely around the city for nearly a month.

What kind of society says no to healthcare, voting rights, and children but yes to lobbyists, guns, and power.
