today i started trying out this morning routine i designed for myself (that of course includes language learning) and i’m LOVING it 😭😭😭 this is truly so fun
guys someone hold me accountable please i need to come back here and get back into my languages 😭 i’ve been in italy for 4 months and i still haven’t locked tf in my italian still sucks this is HELL
okay so if nothing changes i’m going to italy at the end of may… i’ve learnt italian on and off over the years but i’m way better at listening than i am at speaking (lack of practice), so let’s see how far i can get in these two weeks!!! 🤓🤩
i find it super interesting when languages do this… it’s called metathesis, and there are examples in other languages (crocodile > cocodrilo in spanish, mosquito > moustique in french)
also guys do you remember language jam???? i think about it every other month… i’m still so upset it’s gone 😭😭😭
do you guys have any side quest suggestions to spice up life??? lol. i have a bunch on my list already but if you do i’m all ears!!!
my side quests are things that you can start and finish relatively quickly… on a day/weekend. for example
- go practise archery
- go to an astronomy meeting and look at the stars
things like “run a marathon” are more like main quests cause they take a lot of time and effort 😭
today i had a student switch to french mid-spanish lesson and it was so funnnn hahahaha will i ever be able to do that in mandarin?? 👀
i’m kind of scared tho cause every time i come on here and talk about my plans, it takes me about 2 weeks to go inactive again so i don’t want to jinx it 😭😭 it’s been a month and a half for mandarin and nearly 2 weeks for french. i want to be hopeful lol i choose to believe……
so i visited paris a week ago and i met a lot of amazing (french) people and we spoke in french the whole time and i think my brain FINALLY decided french is super cool and i really want to put in the work voluntarily and improve??? it only took me 14 years omg
i’ve felt the motivation for a couple days for very specific reasons… but it always fades away rather quickly 😬 in about a couple days. i didn’t say anything last week after the trip cause i thought this high would fade too but?? it’s not happening????? I GUESS IT’S OFFICIAL???
