It's earnings season, and after the calls, executives make the podcast rounds, often on shows you'd never think to check. So we built Ethmos: research agents that track the companies you cover, catch every executive appearance you might have missed, and brief you each morning.

It’s funny because we said 3 months ago the future hedge fund analyst job will be to collect esoteric information This is another step forward to automate that part of the job My theory is that relationships and access to semi-private information will be all the alpha up for grabs in a few years

I have a funny story that wouldn't have been so funny if this software was a thing back when I was a banker. We were running a sale process for a company on the smaller side of our coverage. COO was an older guy who had been at the company for decades. Couple weeks into the process, he attends an industry conference where on a panel he (accidentally and implicitly) stated that the next 2 quarters for his company were going to be much worse than expected, and that the broader industry was going to see some declines. We find out about this and are freaking out. VP has me thinking of ways to spin his comments as less bearish than they were in reality. Over the next few weeks, we're waiting for a sponsor to reach out and ask about what he said, but not a single one did. The transcript was out there if you knew where to look, but nobody did. Nowadays it would be in your inbox the next day. First reporting package post close was pretty ugly, but they recovered. COO almost costed him and the rest of the old management team a couple million though.

OKAY, THIS IS THE KIND OF THING I’D WANT AI TO HANDLE FOR ME! Ethmos is launching research agents that track the companies you follow and find their executives on podcasts, including smaller shows you might never come across. You get a brief each morning with the key points and links to the episodes. So beyond earnings calls, you have more conversations to dig into and learn from, without having to find them all yourself.

Bracebridge's Nancy Zimmerman on Capital Allocators: hyperscalers have issued about $250 billion of investment-grade bonds for AI, against roughly $350 billion of 10-year-plus Treasuries. She says the borrowers care little about pricing that debt efficiently. Five items:
