Geth v1.9.9 (Serrice Ice) just out! No, it's not an Istanbul hotfix, rather enables the next fork, Muir Glacier, scheduled for the 6th of January, 2020. Apologies for the tight schedule, the ice age arrived sooner than anticipated. #golang #Ethereum github.com/ethereum/go-ether…

The ethereum community need to adapt a better process for EIPs and upgrades. The innitially scheduled data for Istanbul is in Oct. , so it's rational to leave the difficulty bomb aside. But Istanbul delayed, (to some extent) forcing us to make a decision in a hurry.

The difficult bomb is not a big deal, maybe. But a better model could help us provide more predictability. And the proposal had been constructed (thanks @TimBeiko):<medium.com/coinmonks/train-p…>

A lot of "Ethereum Killers" will launch their mainnet in Q4 2019 or Q1 2020. It is an opportunity to see how they can keep their promises and where PoS ecosystem willl go. <placeholder.vc/blog/2019/10/…>

Another question, to application builders, what's the difference between buidling with a layer-2 solution on top of ethereum and building an independent chain to participate a 'cross-chain-able' system?
This article alerms us that do not introduce conterintutive approachs into *protocol* to extract value from users, no matter this 'user' means supplier or consumer.
1/ "Protocols provide structure for businesses, but are *not* businesses themselves; they are systems of logic that coordinate exchange between suppliers (businesses) and consumers of a service."

Thanks Kyle J Kistner from @b0xNet for providing a good resource which is not just a good curation of synthetic assets related to DAI, but also an empirical research towards Ethereum's composibility. <medium.com/bzxnetwork/a-tour…>

Someone says that DeFi just like lego blocks, but currently these blocks aren't standardlized techically (they don't have standard interface and data types, etc). Does it matter? Maybe a decentralized type system will help? Thanks @lorecirstea for dType.<medium.com/@loredana.cirstea…>
