The Everywhere Edition is here: If you are on @Shopify, you are everywhere your customers are shopping. This Edition features some key updates to Agentic Storefronts, Catalog and UCP because we want to be clear that if you want on Shopify you are everywhere by default. Every Edition is intentionally overwhelming. It’s a celebration of the progress we’ve made each season and serves as a complete list of features for those who want to pay attention. To make it easier to parse, I broke down some of my favorite features among the 200+ and explained some of the ambition behind them.

Mantle's Techtonic is officially canceled. @ShopDevAlliance is stepping up. Hosting our own in-person event has been on our roadmap for a while, and this is the moment. It's our first one, spots will be limited, and we won't try to replace Techtonic. But we'll get the community together and it'll be a good one. Sign up for news: brightwork.dev Open to sponsors too, just DM me.

Webhooks were built for a simpler time. Next Generation Events are built for ours. Choose what triggers your webhook, shape your payload with GraphQL and run filters before it even hits your endpoint. Now in Developer Preview.

Honestly, why is this allowed ? Multiple partners have apps with identical functionality, ranking for the same keywords. So bold that it’s not even on a different partner account 😅

One year ago, at 20 I made the biggest bet of my life by investing $70k into Recheck with @eternerd Today, I'm making a different kind of bet: I’m stepping away from Recheck as a co-founder to go all-in on building AI-native products as an indie hacker again. There’s no drama here. No secret story. As Recheck grew, something shifted quietly: I found myself getting most excited when I was sketching new tools, shipping tiny prototypes, or playing with AI workflows that had nothing to do with "a Shopify app." The honest truth is I love being an indie hacker. Small loops. Weird experiments. Shipping fast. Having the freedom to say, "This idea doesn't fit the current product, but I'm building it anyway." Shopify has been an amazing ecosystem to learn in. But it’s also a box. Most ideas have to pass one filter: "Does this help Shopify merchants enough to be worth building?" Over the last few months, I realized I'm excited about a different game: - AI-native, high-leverage tools - Not tied to a single platform - Lots of shots on goal instead of one long, narrow road - Going back to that indie hacker mode where I can spin up, test, kill, or double-down quickly For a while, I tried to rationalize it away. "Maybe you’re just tired." "Ship this next feature and the spark will come back." But your energy is hard to lie to. You can push through misalignment for a quarter. You can't fake it for a decade. So after a lot of long calls and very honest conversations, we made the grown-up decision: Kunal will keep leading Recheck deeper into the Shopify ecosystem. I’ll step away and go build the strange AI-first stuff that keeps me up at night. We get to protect the friendship, respect each other’s paths, and avoid the quiet "what if" resentment 5 years from now. I'm insanely grateful for Kunal, and I think I won the co-founder lottery with him. He took a wild bet with me when this was just an idea. We shipped hard things, handled the unsexy work, and turned Recheck into a real, useful product for huge brands. Whatever Recheck becomes next, I’ll be cheering from the sidelines. Here’s what I’m betting on now: - Smaller, faster build cycles - AI-native products from day one - Systems that give people outsized leverage - The belief that your 20s are for aggressive exploration Walking away from something that's working is way harder than walking away from something that’s failing. But the original bet was never on one app or one platform. It was on myself. This is just the next version of that same bet. 🫶🏻
Bit of an update from my end. @ayysoni and I are parting ways on @recheck_app As Recheck has grown, our interests have diverged. Ayush is more excited about AI and not be restricted by the platform, while I still feel strongly about continuing to build on @Shopify

Checkout Extensions for Checkout Links 👀 Shopify Plus brands can now customize their checkout per link. Each link becomes its own checkout experience 💃🏽 So many possibilities - excited to see what you all build with it 🙌🏽 Everything happens IN checkout - no distractions ⚡

the only reason to do free is 1) user feedback acceleration 2) review farming other than that, it's a bad trap to fall into especially as a bootstrapped company. Most "free products" have millions in VC backing and have a 6 fig/mo burn rate. You aren't that. Milk free in a 12 month sprint. and then get away from it. The type of user you attract to free is likely not your ideal client.
heavily considering making my app free right now. feels counterproductive to give users a barrier to use my product, when every single new user that comes always gives me great feedback. how should i do this but still be profitable in the long term?

I think that the biggest issue is that we do not get transparency. You get punished - no one knows why, no way to appeal. We were delisted 2 years ago alongside other multiple apps, because an investigation was being made our category. No issue found with our app. But we were just delisted: no warning, no way to appeal, no point of contact.
As you all know we've had some hard times recently and it's definitely not our first struggle but I want to express my gratitude towards @ShopifyDevs 🙏 Every time we faced some issues or felt left out, Shopify helped (or at least tried to) at the end. Sometimes it's @liam_at_shopify advocating for us, other times it's other app partners helping us out, yesterday even @harleyf himself DM'ed me to look into our situation and discuss. You could just feel that they truly care and it makes everything so much easier. Therefore I strongly agree to always participate in discussion and raise any concerns to make the platform better. Feeling grateful being part of this community 🫶

Introducing "Discount Kit LIVE". A new way to craft discount experiences on your storefront. Create sales badges, announcement bars, custom volume tables, up-sells/cross-sells... or... anything you want! TLDR: see some examples discountkit.app/live/example… PS. It works for native @Shopify and function based discounts too! 1/4 🧵

This is such a great and measured approach to building. Community is everywhere, and yet if the growth isn't super intentional things can get out of hand very quickly and the community will suffer. Well done to the founders and founding members over at Operators Guild.
Getting a few DMs on whether you've been selected in the first batch for @operators_guild, as well as some on who took the call. If you didn't get an email, you weren't selected for the first batch. But this DOES NOT mean that you won't ever be selected. We're focusing on ensuring we can have a tight knit, well engaged group before we start expandng. Only ~14 folks were added from ~85 applications. All founding members got a say in who they wanted in the community for the start, and every single person selected had multiple founding members vouching for them. Your application is still valid / active. As we look to grow more in the future, we will continue picking members from the applicants.

The best thing @ShopifyDevs could do for app store ads is to let us set custom titles & subtitles based on keywords just like Google Ads! Imagine how much more relevant (and helpful!) our listings could be for every shopper searching. Would love to see this feature!

I was craving for a peer-group like @ShopDevAlliance but for non-tech folks like me. At Editions, I found out so were many others. That's where the @operators_guild was born. So excited to launch this with an amazing group of founding members! We go live in 2 weeks! Apply 👇🏻

First the course on Shopify ads, now the community! Man’s on fire 🔥🔥 Always felt left out in this world of devs. Glad someone’s taking the initiative to bring the non-tech folks together! 🫡
