I finished my postcards to my 3rd graders just in time for them to get them this week. I am excited to see where my journey back to the classroom takes me!
I am no stranger to Agency by Design or take aparts, but I learned so much from @kkullberg and Karin this afternoon in their #WISSIT24 interactive course. The idea of take aparts in the humanities blew my mind! 🤯
Thank you to @MsGomezEn5to for such an amazing Art Happening today at #WISSIT24 ! And of course thank you to @sandersonpetty and @mbdillane for all the laughter and joy that came with creating this art with you! I think your laughter was heard throughout the 3rd floor
I am so proud of the community of learning we have fostered within our staff!
Belvedere teachers and leaders are diving deep into professional learning at #wissit24 as we head into a new school year.

So impressed with the @BESbulldogs PYPX event yesterday! These students wrestled with big ideas in ways they found actionable. From Title IX to making Columbia Pike safer for pedestrians, the timely and thoughtful topics and presentations were exceptional!
@FCPSR2 @BelvederePTA
This was a great final year of #pypx2024 projects as the coordinator at Belvedere. I look forward to mentoring a group as a classroom teacher next year.

This is just part of the amazing staff who volunteered to be mentors to our 5th graders for #pypx2024 . We had 25 staff members give up their free time to mentor 5th grade groups as they went through the Exhibition process. We are lucky to have such a dedicated staff!
This was my first group @BESbulldogs ! I loved them so as 3rd graders and am so proud to see them as graduates. 🥰

I stayed a little late at school tonight with @HeathsHounds to welcome her former students from last year for a very special viewing of the videos created by @ngadc for @edXOnline #MOOC that the kids will be featured in set to come out soon. @BESbulldogs are so proud!
The first day of our 2 day long 3rd Grade Seed Sale kicked off today. The 3rd grs each had a job they applied and prepared for. They did a fabulous job convincing me to spend money on seeds they had collected, counted and packaged. I ❤️ this @BESbulldogs tradition!
What a unit well documented! We are so lucky to have @Miss_Poplin as a teacher at Belvedere. She develops a plan for documentation that is a part of her lesson plans. The intentionality really shows and supports student learning. @ibpyp
The cherry on the top of our PYP Evaluation week is that the amazing Margaret Summers won the PYP Faculty Recognition Award for @IBMidAtlantic I could not think of a more deserving educator! @summers_school your students were so excited for you.
Today I get to share how much I love my school & all the great work we have done to develop the PYP @BESbulldogs
I watched & learned from @bridget_louder
planned and debriefed with @AdrienneSchumer & @RandolphIBStars
and built a programme I am proud of with the staff at BES!
Just as I reach the peak of anxiety on the eve of our IB evaluation (my first as coordinator) what shows up at my desk? This lovely bouquet from the only other PYP coordinator in the county, @AdrienneSchumer ! Did I cry? Yes. Is she as amazing as she seems from this? Yes! ❤️
A raccoon sighting on Tuesday at 7AM led to an authentic launch into Ms. A’s 2nd grade research unit with questions all about raccoons. We talked about what questions could be answered and what questions we would need to do more research around. @BESbulldogs @ibpyp
I cannot thank the wonderful educators at @nga enough for the wonderful experience our Kinders had last week. I hope Liz, Sara, and Deirdre are ready for 60 thank you cards from the most enthusiastic 5 & 6 year olds. They cannot wait to come back in January. @HeidiHinish thanks!
It was a great turnout of our Preschool families for the annual PreK Family Feast. Families shared food and got a chance to see family photos from students across all our preschool programs. We are so thankful to the preschool staff and @PlazasIvanova for supporting tonight!
Now this really shows how the PYP Unit boards become living documentation spaces in a classroom. They are co-constructed and are full of meaning. So much accomplished by Ms. Poplin and her 3rd graders! @ibpyp
Ms. Smith, our reading teacher, and I have been sharing parts of this book about indigenous ingenuity with the 2nd grade. Today we were greeted with thank you letters and requests for more! This has been a vital resource during our How We Organize Ourselves unit. @ibpyp
