I had a blast today at the (hopefully first of many) annual heat pumping demonstrator. Very proud of my @WeitzmanSchool students developing abstract and creative ways to interface with heat pumps. Thanks to @kippworks and @ForrestCHAOS for the conceptual and functional review!

@xtracycle we made the "coolest" bike out there @cooperunion, turning a free radical into a heat pump beverage cooler, powered by pedaling. @BITZERGroup @kippworks @ForrestCHAOS
@BITZERGroup any suggestions for how get more 0Y compressors? We’re bringing the project back at more universities and I’m having trouble finding the compressor!

The coolest research out there ;-)
Our coolest paper yet dropped in PNAS today! Sick of hot humid air? Well air doesn't matter with a ColdTube to beam you with cool radiation pnas.org/content/early/2020/… Great work led by @ericteitelbaum with @UBC @UCBerkeley @AndlingerCenter @PrincetonSoA @CREATE_NRF @_FCL

Made the first bullet in the @ashraenews with our recent study in @SpringerNature @SciReports. Great thermal image of @chenkianwee showing off all the thermal heat we measure incorrectly. Thanks for support from @AndlingerCenter and @SEC_ETH nature.com/articles/s41598-0…

New research out of @fmeggers group found a longstanding error in the way radiance is calculated & its impact on thermal comfort.
The finding could explain under use of energy efficient radiant heating & cooling systems.

Feeling too hot or cold? Our article out today in @SpringerNature @SciReports shows systemic error of decades of measurements of #radiant conditions in buildings used to model your #comfort. Using 20% of #energy to BADLY heat/cool must stop! @ashraenews. rdcu.be/b1G3w
Excited to announce our latest research has just been published with @SpringerNature in @SciReports, showing a mechanism that systematically underestimates the impact of thermal radiation on your thermal comfort. Read here: rdcu.be/b1G3w @AndlingerCenter @SEC_ETH
