I love that @SlackHQ kicked my research team off and deleted all my guests and team connections when my credit card number changed... all after ONLY emailing me about the problem - I thought slack let me avoid email... come on guys!

Built another level of the treehouse out of random washed up pieces of Canadian docks on the shore of Lake Ontario. Good Father’s Day

“Every act of construction is a defiance of nature” - Emilio Ambasz at @PrincetonSoA Kassler lecture. Same day as my construction is celebrated on the home page Princeton.edu. Still couldn’t agree more. Trying to minimize defiance is hard.

Norway getting it done electrifying both heating and transportation. Yes - heat pumps work fine in cold climates.
BREAKING: Norwegian heat pump market grows by 25% in 2022. Almost 2/3 of homes in Norway now have a heat pump installed. novap.no/artikler/energismar…

Sorry @JesseJenkins - even the most efficient buildings have dumb thermostats next to outdoor doors - making this inefficient heater heat this space to 90 degrees while the T-stat set to 70. Better controls such low hanging fruit - for now CHAOS research = turning dumb stuff off
This is not a bad place to work...

to be clear it's not the engineers or the architecta fault, though they could have fought harder against stupidity - it is the project managers and developers that drive a mentality of maximum space and minimal innovation where only first costs matter and on time on budget rules

If it weren't for the extreme innovation resistance and risk aversion in the building and construction sector I could make our building have half the emissions and be twice as comfortable. #radiant #heating #thermostat

Replying to @xtracycle
@xtracycle we made the "coolest" bike out there @cooperunion, turning a free radical into a heat pump beverage cooler, powered by pedaling. @BITZERGroup @kippworks @ForrestCHAOS

Tom Meitner was an amazing human being. He made me happy as a friend and good about the prospects of solving the myriad challenges the planet faces. Will carry on in his spirit. This is just too tragic to comprehend. #mentalhealth #guncontrol #tommeixner washingtonpost.com/education…

“Some of my colleagues complained about how noisy the geo-thermal drilling was in the summer. And I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me? Do you know how important this is to carbon emissions?’” Meggers said.

“I think there needs to be a little more ‘we’re going to save the world’ attitude about the project.”

Whoever says I wear too many hats, doesn't realize I'm just trying to figure out what goes best with overalls. #experiments #hottube #radiant #concrete ... Monday morning being hot in the cold, Tuesday after concrete, then teaching VR/AR class
