Standard software stacks are fundamentally ill-suited both to security and to performance on modern hardware. They will need to be replaced. So we should be thinking big about future programming languages and APIs rather than layering more duck tape onto C/Linux.

At Defcon 2018 I had an open invitation from some contacts to come up to their private suite at Caesar’s, so eventually I do. It’s all chill, lots of pizza and nachos and drinks and stuff. Then this couple shows up, and we get to talking.

You have to call to cancel @ooma service. Their hold music is obnoxiously loud and there's a special department for canceling ("account specialist", not "retention specialist"). Why did I ever think I would actually switch my service?

Found this by retweet by @desertdave2012. First measure I've seen indicating high volume of pneumonia deaths Feb-today aside from known COVID-19. (This is based on death certs, so the counts are behind a few weeks.) cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid… has live version of Table 2.
