I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for my campaign as we fight to make sure every lawful ballot is counted.
We saw historic voter turnout in this election across Mississippi and showed the country that Mississippi Matters — in large part due to the support of my day one team who has been with me all along.
My campaign, alongside the DSCC and Elias Law Group, Lisa Ross, and our great team of local attorneys, are leading the effort to ensure every eligible voter is heard and I am confident that when votes are counted, we will flip this seat.

NEW: The DOJ will send a record-breaking 1,000 election monitors to observe midterm voting nationwide after a federal judge allowed it to deploy federal law enforcement to serve as poll monitors.

Federal law prohibits the military and federal law enforcement from interfering with elections.
OAG has contacted the Administration about the presence of National Guard troops and federal agents near voting locations in recent days.
National Guard leadership has advised that members of Joint Task Force-DC, which includes both the National Guard and federal law enforcement, have been directed not to patrol at or near any voting locations in the District.

A federal judge denied the NAACP's bid to block the Justice Department from sending election monitors to polling places on Election Day — but imposed strict conditions on who those monitors can be.
Judge Reggie Walton ordered the DOJ to ensure its poll monitors are not sworn law enforcement officials, cannot carry firearms, cannot wear uniforms or display federal insignia, and have no power to make arrests. The monitors must be administrative or clerical personnel only.
The ruling comes after allegations that the DOJ planned to deploy more than 1,000 personnel — including law enforcement agents and investigators — to polling locations. Walton ordered the department to file a status report by 7 a.m. ET Tuesday confirming that none of the monitors have arrest powers.
