JUST IN: The Court issued a Temporary Restraining Order requiring urgent repairs at Delta Pearl.
It orders defendants to:
— Fix the AC system
— Repair both elevators
— Clear trash and debris
— Remove graffiti
— Address rodents and pests
— Repair broken locks and enhance security
NEW: We are suing a Ward 5 landlord for extreme housing neglect.
Tenants at this 10-story building have been without air conditioning and working elevators since early July and face shocking, dangerous housing conditions.
We're fighting for accountability and emergency repairs.

NEW: We are suing the owners of a Ward 8 building under the Nuisance Act.
The property has become a den for drug sales and other criminal activity after the owners repeatedly failed to take basic security measures.
The conditions endanger tenants, neighbors, and nearby schools.
Usually, when a lender lends you money, it's because they think you can pay it back. Not in this case.
CAC made auto loans to people it knew could not afford them — then profited as they lost their cars and drowned in debt.
It also let dealers inflate costs with hidden add-ons.
This is a 40-state settlement that delivers $694 million in restitution and debt forgiveness to consumers nationwide.
It includes strong injunctive terms like price caps, enhanced disclosures, and off-ramps for failing loans to stop further abuses.

We are resharing this alert because third-party energy companies continue to target DC residents with aggressive sales practices.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of former DC Attorney General Irvin B. Nathan.
Irv was a principled and fierce defender of the District of Columbia and fought tirelessly for its residents.
He successfully lifted several federal consent decrees for the District, recovered more than $70 million from companies that failed to pay their taxes, and founded the Ruff Fellowship Program that gives new generations of lawyers the opportunity to start their legal careers at the Office of the Attorney General.
We are forever grateful for Irv’s legacy of leadership and public service.
