Thrilled to help @epochbio scale their plastic-eating enzymes, turning "unrecyclable" materials into high-value inputs for customers in textiles and beyond. Congrats on the oversubscribed Series A!
1/ Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve raised an oversubscribed $18.3M Series A to scale our enzymatic recycling technology that converts plastic waste into new material!

1/ Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve raised an oversubscribed $18.3M Series A to scale our enzymatic recycling technology that converts plastic waste into new material!
6/ With backing from @ExtantiaVC,
@Inditex (through @mundiventures), @lowercarbon, @DayOneVC, we're building our first facility and expanding our library of plastic-eating enzymes. Join us—we're hiring! epochbiodesign.com/careers/
5/ The result? We're making virgin plastic the expensive choice. Recycled materials without compromise on cost or performance.
4/ Our biorecycling process works with nature, not against it. We've designed enzymes that break down mixed plastic waste into chemical building blocks for new materials—at ROOM TEMP, atmospheric pressure, and with best-in-class yield.
3/ As we transition from combustibles, polyester is now China's largest driver of new oil usage. Plastic is choking our ecosystems, infiltrating our food, and driving a thirst for new oil and gas. While traditional recycling struggles to scale, biology meets the moment.
2/ We're on a mission to solve plastic waste through biology. The problem is as plain as the shirt on your back: 64% of our clothes are synthetic textiles, AKA plastics.

We're very excited to feature in this Sunday's @thetimes!
Read on and learn how modern biotechnology can be combined with the age-old process of fermentation to unlock the value of plastic waste.
Many thanks to @Ben_Spencer the brilliant write-up.

We've been keeping this under wraps for a while now... pleased to announce that we've raised an $11M seed round led by @Lowercarbon alongside @BoxGroup, @Amadeus, @hellotvc, VOYAGERS.io, @ZeroCarbonCap, @mcjcollective and more!
British startup, @epochbio, has just raised $11m to grow its plastic-eating enzymes tech. 🧫
The enzymes — brewed in a similar way to beer — could solve the world's plastic problem by breaking down currently unrecyclable materials. ♻️ #climatetech
