Great to welcome Jamie Scott as COO of @epochbio. As we expand manufacturing and work towards commercial-scale nylon 6,6 recycling, his experience will be a real asset to the business.

He brings 30+ years of experience across chemical manufacturing and technology commercialisation, including leading INVISTA’s European nylon intermediates business and holding senior roles at Koch Technology Solutions and Huntsman.
I’ve written for @WEF about why Europe’s chemical industry crisis could also be an opportunity to rethink where our raw materials come from and the role that AI, biotech, and existing industrial infrastructure can play.

More than 3M tonnes of nylon 6,6 are produced every year, yet almost none is recycled. At @epochbio, we use AI-designed enzymes to break complex nylon waste back into its chemical building blocks so those molecules can be used again.

Thrilled to help @epochbio scale their plastic-eating enzymes, turning "unrecyclable" materials into high-value inputs for customers in textiles and beyond. Congrats on the oversubscribed Series A!
1/ Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve raised an oversubscribed $18.3M Series A to scale our enzymatic recycling technology that converts plastic waste into new material!

Winners in climate tech = those that make the sustainable choice the default choice through superior economics. @epochbio's approach to plastic waste does exactly that. Proud to continue backing @JacobNathan__ & this extraordinary team!

1/ Excited to announce: @epochbio has raised $18.3M Series A to scale our enzymatic technology that converts plastic waste into new materials. We're on a mission to solve plastic waste through biology. The problem is as plain as the shirt on your back: 64% of our clothes are synthetic textiles, AKA plastics.

Today, only 2% of plastics are truly recycled, the rest is downcycled, burned, landfilled, or leaked into the environment.
@Epochbio gives new life to plastic waste by converting it into everyday chemicals.
