Here is the doppler estimated rain from the past 5 days across the region as a combination of near-record levels of moisture in the atmosphere and slow moving disturbances led to repeated rounds of heavy rainfall each night from Monday through Thursday nights with flooding. #txwx

Here is the 21z sounding from College Station provided by @TAMU. Observations show ample moisture and a deep warm layer between 900-700mb. This warm layer and above freezing surface temps are currently staving off winter precipitation. #TXwx #HOUwx #Houston

All I'll say is this. The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Kerr County more than 12 hours ahead of the catastrophic flood. A flash flood warning was issued for Hunt & Ingram 3 HOURS before the Guadalupe started to climb. They did their job and they did it well

This is it. *THE* video to watch from yesterday's destructive supercell. Credit to Iskra Mahler for catching it on his drone from east Austin. Edited to highlight: 1. Wall cloud over Austin with brief tornado attempt 2. Rare capture of a microburst 3. FFD ripping into the city

Rumors that NOAA’s contribution to AR recon is being canceled are false. We used up all the flight hours prior to end of on-station period. We are documenting the need and the need cannot be supported. AF C130s are still flying…

From. The. Rooftops. You're not going to find a magic money-printing machine anywhere else that will give you these types of reliable returns year-after-year. @NOAA and @NWS don't just keep us safe - they create immense value for the American taxpayer.

Batteries surged providing 4,000 megawatts on peak as demand exceeded 74,000 megawatts close to WS Elliott levels. ERCOT is forecasting a 77,000 megawatt peak this evening. Batteries will charge during the day to be ready for the second, possibly larger, peak. #txlege #txenergy
