What @Polymarket gets wrong here is that these elections most likely will result in new ones, with no one able to form a government. However, do not despair; Eisenkot is rightly slotted as the strongest candidate, with a very narrow path to victory.

For reasons I can’t explain, I took off my ballistic helmet before the attack on Abu Falah and left it under a tree. After, a young Palestinian approached me, smiling, wearing it. He handed it back and pointed to a deep white nick. A large stone had hit him square in the helmet.

I was on a flight to Israel and struck up a conversation with the lady beside me. She was Jewish; her family were Holocaust survivors. As we saw the coastline of Israel from the window, she burst into tears. It was her first time visiting. Tell me again how Jews have no connection to the land of Israel.

A wonderful celebration of community, connection, and coexistence at the #Pyla #Pile Peace Festival, held in the @UN #bufferzone and facilitated by @UNPOL and civilian peacekeepers. Bringing together members of both communities and local representatives, the festival highlighted the power of community engagement in building trust and strengthening relationships.
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General & Head of #UNFICYP, Khassim Diagne, attended at the invitation of Pyla's two Mukhtars, alongside both the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot leaders, reaffirming the importance of people-to-people connections and local initiatives in fostering peaceful coexistence. #A4P #InvestInPeace

Zionism nationality was built by largely secular thinkers in the nationalist wave of late 19th-century Europe.
It was not handed down at Sinai.
It was designed in Europe.

Does this apology extend to the hundreds of Palestinians who were brutalized during the same attack?
I just called Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who was brutally attacked by violent rioters on Friday.
As President of the State of Israel, I strongly condemn this outrageous and shocking violence, both the terrible attack on Heidi and other grave incidents of violence, such as what took place today in Taybeh.
I expressed my deepest sorrow to Heidi and apologized for what she went through.
The despicable behavior of the perpetrators of this attack does not represent the citizens or the values of the State of Israel.
Israel is a democratic state governed by the rule of law, and it must act with full force against every form of violence. Each incident is being thoroughly investigated, and we await the findings.
All government, security, and law enforcement authorities must use every means at their disposal to investigate thoroughly, apprehend these lawbreakers, and bring them to justice with the fullest extent of the law.
On behalf of the entire nation, I wish Heidi good health and a speedy recovery.

The whole concept of this is absurd on its face. If you don’t coordinate a visit to a tiny Palestinian village with the IDF, you are liable to be attacked by feral Israeli settlers
The IDF strongly condemns the severe act of violence that took place in the area of Taybeh, during which diplomatic representatives were attacked by Israeli rioters.
Police forces and forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District are entering the area accompanied by IDF soldiers and will begin collecting findings and evidence, as well as taking testimonies, in support of an investigation that has been opened.
The consulate's visit was not coordinated with the IDF. Such coordination is important to prevent incidents of this kind.
According to a preliminary inquiry, no IDF soldiers were present at the scene at the time of the attack. The report was sent to the brigade operations room, which is designated to receive reports from security personnel only, and not from civilians. The operations room receives dozens of operational reports each day and responds only to authorized personnel, not civilians. It should be emphasized that other designated channels are available for civilians to submit complaints. All circumstances surrounding the incident will be examined.

Replying to @IDF
I was a combat soldier in an elite IDF unit. I served in the West Bank and witnessed firsthand how settlers could do whatever they wanted with impunity.
Today I’m the Executive Director of ״Breaking the Silence״ an organization that has collected thousands of testimonies from Israeli soldiers over the past two decades.
And I can say with certainty that this statement by IDF spokesperson is a lie. The IDF is not trying to stop Jewish terrorism in the occupied territories. In fact, it protects Jewish terrorists and arms them with US-made M16 rifles.
If the IDF genuinely wanted to stop Jewish terrorism, the Chief of Staff could simply order the 30,000 soldiers stationed in the West Bank to carry out arrests. It’s that simple.

To be clear, the only reason I was able to reach Heidi was because young Palestinians provided cover with rocks against machine-gun- and tear-gas-wielding settlers and soldiers. It’s those kids, not the settler terrorists, who the IDF was hunting after the attack.
