Very clean setup short setup on $AAPL. It caught a bid this week as a perceived safety trade, but Q3 iPhone sell-through is going to be ugly. Risk/reward here is heavily skewed.

In public, Silicon Valley says this is about finding God. In private, it’s about becoming like God. "Many building this technology have filled that God-shaped hole with the machine god of AGI." — Palantir CTO

Good guy to follow. He’s also not that grumpy in person. 😉
So... I've kind of grown myself an audience I never really expected or intended to. My account is sort of a novelty; I post and pin my monthly updates, which seem to be the driver (and which massively overstates my competence), and I *occasionally* write an alpha-laden post on a name I hold and don't think is getting good discussion, but largely I just retweet stuff I like and browse around. With that in mind, I'd like to highlight some accounts wrongfully smaller than mine which post far more actionable and sophisticated intelligence with far more frequency. In no particular order: @UCompounders has written some simply excellent content on my two big sectors, mining and defense. He highlights tons of interesting research pulled from financial journals as well. @StableBread pulls together tons of information on stocks I follow into easily readable posts. He's also building really stellar tooling for research, parsing and surfacing information buried in filings. @MicrocapDr brings tons of experience, an attention to detail, and a critical eye, to many microcaps, especially in the energy space. @thegresearch is a young analyst bringing serious research to bear in an array of industries. Puts up great performance as a testament to skill. @aviancapital is sitting just behind me on follower count but should be way ahead. Provides excellent perspective on the environment we're in, posts excellent research, and has launched a L/S fund that, if you're an accredited investor, may be of interest to you. @Raunav410657 digs into overlooked opportunities across an array of drivers and catalysts, and posts excellent alpha-rich articles on SS. If you're into metals and mining, I'm not sure there are many people posting better industry and technical content than @HankRuehl. @bmb21 is a sophisticated microcap investor worth paying attention to. Lower volume, higher signal. There are of course many great names I'm missing, but for my feed, these are names I've been very happy to see, and each of them contribute far more value than I do. Seriously, I don't deserve the reach I have (even if it's small in the grand scheme). Each of the above have a legitimate reason to be followed more than I. Give em a look.

In the same way TSA was started as a result of 9/11, we’re just one crisis away from this policy being applied to your ability to bank, work, travel, and transact.

It will be Shakespearian-level irony if OpenAI’s financial gaslighting pops the bubble in stocks today, and in 6 months their newest model breaks encryption, implodes crypto, and freezes the banking system.

Not again… “Nearly 200 People Under Observation After Irkutsk Lab Worker Dies From Plague" - Moscow Times
🚨☣️More details on the Oct 1st pneumonic plague outbreak in Siberia, after a lab accident at a BSL-3 lab. "FSB units accompanying ambulances transporting people who had been in contact with [lab tech] Shipilova for medical examination," as per local news. This is significant. FSB is Russia's domestic security / counterintelligence service, tasked w/implementing the national security of Russia." (Its predecessor was the KGB). This suggests quarantine was not voluntary. It also means Russian authorities are treating the lab accident and plague outbreak as a national security issue, involving a lot more than routine public health.

Watch this. Incredible
Through the VOICE trial, Terry is using his Neuralink implant to help fine-tune a brain-to-voice interface for himself and others who can’t speak. He trained the algorithm first by miming speech as best he could, then by simply thinking the words and hearing them come out in his own natural voice. Powered by Grok Voice from @spacexai

Harvest season is in full swing for farmers. Last year at this time diesel was $3.75 / gal. Now it’s approaching $6.50 / gal. Farmers must harvest their crops. They can’t delay and hope for lower diesel prices and risk that crops will spoil. Food prices are headed much higher. Inflation is going to be very sticky. What is Warsh going to do?

Is it just me or does it sound like Netflix is using fake crowd noise for the 49ers vs Rams?

“Why don’t we just keep our own fuel here…for the Americans.” Average guy starting to understand Diesel at $6 hurts.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Trump starts talking about an export ban on diesel and/or WTI. Anyone who hasn’t filled up heating oil yet is in for some pain.

Over 100 points lower in ES at 7636. 10yr - 4.85% WTI - $96.50 Brent - $101 More to go.
This feels like a squeeze. Back in the ES short at 7745. Last time oil was this high, the s&p was 300+ points lower.

This Zelda Ocarina of Time announcement feels like the *real* launch of the Switch 2. The graphics look a lot different from Switch 1 era, which is going to sell a lot of consoles. $NTDOY
