Does anyone more familiar with the NZ twitter cooker scene know what the deal is with the "spider" thing? Clearly some sort of in-group label, but what's the relevance?
Of course you have the usual characters in the comments who railed against Labour's "authoritarianism" supporting the coalition overruling local democracy
🧵My Listener column on Simeon Brown's rule-change on road speed limits. It increases speed limits on most roads, reverts any limits enacted since 2020 and, crucially, forbids councils ever reduce any of them, even at the request of their own voters. nzherald.co.nz/the-listener/…

"while respecting each other's right to their own view" - - you do not, in fact, have to respect hate speech. Bowing to the rabid transphobes, after such a strong statement of solidarity with Shaneel, is pathetic. You were right the first time.

My take: Pectus Excavatum has a range of severity, it can have minimal to serious health impacts. In my case it has minimal impact and correction would be mostly cosmetic. I don't know where Crowder sat, it seems like it was having at least some heart impact.

The Republican Party of Montana is refusing to allow me—a transgender Representative—to speak on any bill. This is fundamentally undemocratic.

The protest that overwhelmed a rally for anti-trans rights activist Posie Parker in Auckland last weekend was described as out-of-control and violent in some accounts. Two reporters on the ground tell Mediawatch that does not reflect what they saw.
