the issue lies in both extremes: demonizing Troy as irredeemable bc of fanon invented bad behavior towards Shane *&* woobifying him as an innocent victim with nothing to atone for whose actions did no harm are both complete misreads of his character that undermine his story arc.

This isn't medical misogyny, this is just a very normal and common policy that most hospitals and practices have (or are required to have) to minimise the amount of trauma caused to patients. It's a safeguard, not judgement.
