A straightforward request for employee names (which are explicitly public by statute) is met with a puzzling claim that the names of law enforcement officers are confidential. Nothing in the public records law supports New Bern's argument. Access is the rule, not the exception.

Regarding minimum wage: Is there a reason why folks who favor having the govt require employers to pay more don’t also push for the govt to not take taxes out of people’s paychecks if they earn under a certain amount?
